league of legends world championship grand final

What are we watching this week: Worlds 2023 Grand Final

The Worlds 2023 grand final will feature the crowd favourites T1 and the LPL’s Weibo Gaming.

And then there were just two as T1 will face off against Weibo Gaming in the Worlds 2023 grand finals to see who will lift the Summoner’s Cup. Weibo was the first team to make it to the grand final after they defeated fellow LPL compatriot, Bilibili Gaming. As for T1, they took down JD Gaming in their second straight semifinal win against the LPL number one seed.

The grand final will take place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea this Sunday, November 19. This will be Weibo’s first-ever grand final in the organisation’s debut at the world championship. However, it will be the second grand final appearance for both Kang “TheShy” Seung-Iok and Liu “Crisp” Quing-Song.

Crisp won in 2019 with FunPlus Phoenix while TheShy will be looking to repeat his 2018 exploits during his time with Invictus Gaming. As for T1, they will be looking for its fourth world title alongside Sang-hyeok “Faker” Lee. T1’s journey to the grand finals will be solidified in League of Legends lore for as long as the game lives on if they were to lift a fourth Summoner’s Cup. They have had to go through two LPL teams already in the Knockout Stage and will face the third and final opponent from China in just six days time.
