LNG Esports has recruited one of the LPL's top AD carry players into its ranks.
After a mid-table finish during the LPL Spring Split, LNG Esports has gone out and brought in two-time LPL Spring and MSI winner, Chen "GALA" Wei, formerly of Royal Never Give Up. With one of the LPL's best AD carry players now on the squad, it meant that Li "LP" Fei would head in the opposite direction, having signed with RNG.
This comes after the team invested heavily during the off-season to bring in one of the world's best midlaners, Lee "Scout" Ye-Chan. LNG finished the spring split group stage portion in third, which placed them just one best-of-five series away from the double-elimination bracket that could've bettered their chances of going to MSI. Unfortunately, that didn't work out in the way they would've hoped.
And with the LPL Summer Split starting in just a few short days, LNG has wasted no time introducing GALA into the fold. They finished in the top six during the spring split, which gave them some championship points that will go a long way in the team's road to Worlds 2023.
While LNG will have to bide their time to make its official MSI debut, this year would arguably be the org's best chance at making it to the world championship. With two seasoned pros in their lineup who have what it takes to go the distance, LNG will be looking to make only its second Worlds appearance after making its debut back in 2021.
