The LEC champions break their previous records at Worlds 2022.
Rogue easily dispatched Top Esports to top Group C while also going undefeated with a 3-0 score. They head into their final day of games on October 15 with one foot in the playoffs, needing just one more win and a bit of luck to move on. This is also Rogue's third consecutive appearance at the world championship but the first time they've ever won three games.
The early game was fairly even between both teams with neither willing to give way. Rogue took an early lead but it didn't last long before TES caught up. It wasn't until the first Baron fight in the 20th minute that saw Rogue wipe three off of TES. But that didn't stop the LPL's second-best team as they managed to destroy Rogue's middle lane inhibitor despite their cores dying around the map.
But this didn't stop Rogue. Instead, they would force themselves towards TES' base, constantly pushing lanes and taking out turrets to force their hand. A slow but clinical push in the middle back for Rogue saw them take out TES' top-lane duo, leaving them in a three-versus-five situation. Rogue soon retreated to claim their second drake and fourth overall in the game. They would continuously poke and prod towards TES and their base before wiping their bottom lane duo.
This left TES' base wide open for Rogue to go for the final blow. While TES were already two down, they defended with spirit but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop Rogue. All five members of Rogue were also clinical in their role towards the team's victory. Both Kim "Malrang" Geun-Seong and Emil "Larssen" Larsson had zero deaths in the game with a KDA of 3/0/8 and 4/0/10 respectively.
Markos "Comp" Stamkopoulos ended the game at 9/2/5, leaving him with the highest kills in the game. Even Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu and Adrian "Trymbi" Trybus also got involved plenty of times with both players getting double-digit assists. Only Trymbi would end the game with zero kills but had 15 assists to make up for it. This goes to show just how well he plays on Rakan, having plenty of great initiations to give Rogue an advantage in each team fight.
The last game of the day will be between GAM Esports and DRX and will ultimately decide whether we will have another three-way tie or not. With DRX in second and TES in third, GAM will need a win later to make things interesting. All four teams will be playing one another once more with Rogue having the advantage of beating each team once already
