The PCS is coming up in the world.
CTBC Flying Oyster makes their debut at Worlds 2022 and sends a message to Group D with a statement victory over 100 Thieves. The PCS has never been a strong contender on the world stage but CFO is looking to change the script. That win was the LCS' second loss of the day with only Evil Geniuses left versus JD Gaming.
Heading into the match, not many could have predicted CFO coming out on top against a team like 100T. While the LCS squad did start the game strong, they could never truly find their footing with CFO creating constant disruptions. It was a real bloodbath from the early game on with both teams going for kills when necessary.
Given the amount of experience within the CFO lineup, they never really looked like they were going to lose that game. Both Shih-Chieh "Rest" Hsu and Xiao-Xian "M1ssion" Chen played a key role in CFO's win, gaining nine assists each. This showed just how well CFO's team fighting was with all the cores getting in on the action.
Even Chu Xuan "Gemini" Huang and Chih-Chiang "Koala" Lin got very much involved with both players amassing seven assists each. But it was Koala who was the team's second-highest kill leader with five, showcasing just how potent Viego can be in the right hands.
However, it was the team's latest newcomer, Chao "Shunn" Ying-Shun who stole the spotlight with his plays on Kai'Sa. He finished the game with 10 kills and zero deaths on his Worlds 2022 group stage debut. He even got his first triple kill on the main stage after some great combination from CFO. While that in itself is impressive, to do it against one of the LCS' top teams is another thing entirely.
CFO's next match will be another tough test, this time against Royal Never Give Up. RNG has been decent for the most part but has not been at its best since winning MSI earlier this year. It doesn't get any easier for 100T as well as their next match is up against Gen.G Esports, the top team in the LCK at the moment.
