Zenless Zone Zero’s first major update of the year adds two rerun banners.
HoYoverse has unveiled Zenless Zone Zero’s first major update of 2025, and it’s a big one. The action-RPG’s Version 1.5 update drops on January 22, 2025, bringing new characters Astra Yao and Evelyn into the fray, along with rerun banners for Ellen and Qingyi. Zenless Zone Zero 1.5 new banners: Astra Yao and Evelyn (and Ellen Joe and Qingyi)
Zenless Zone Zero adds two more playable characters in an all-new faction, the Stars of Lyra. In the first half, players will be able to pull for Astra Yao, an S-Rank Ether Support Agent. Astra can provide damage buffs to her entire squad when in her Idyllic Cadenza state, and continues buffing teammates on the battlefield even after being switched out. She’s also the first healer in the game, with an Ultimate that both damages enemies and heals teammates.
In the back half of this update, players can pull for Evelyn Chevalier, an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent who serves as Astra’s manager and bodyguard. Her attacks generate a Burning Tether Point meter, which allows her to unleash a Chain Attack on her lonesome when it’s charged up. After she has used her Ultimate for the first time, she enters a Dance of Awakened Fire state, with each subsequent Ultimate unlocking a new animation.
A new update always brings new Bangboos. In this case, we’re getting a new S-Rank Bangboo called Snap. That’s not all, though - Version 1.5 also adds the game’s very first rerun banners, allowing players to pull for Ellen Joe and Qingyi if they missed out on the Agents last time around. Ellen Joe will be available with Astra Yao in the first half, and Qingyi will be available with Evelyn in the second half.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.5’s new skins and modes
Zenless Zone Zero is getting multiplayer content! Sort of. The game’s arcade minigame Bizarre Brigade is getting a two-player PvE mode, and another Mario Kart-like arcade game is also being added to Godfinger. As for the regular game modes, Endless Tower: The Last Stand and Perpetrator Battle are both being added to give players more ways to earn key in-game resources at a higher challenge level.
Version 1.5 is also introducing another first for Zenless Zone Zero: character skins! Astra, Ellen and Nicole are getting new outfits in this update, and players can pick up Nicole’s skin for free by checking out the in-game event Ridu’s Got Boo during The Day of Brilliant Wishes. Another event called the Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship will also introduce a new fishing minigame.
