Las Vegas will be playing home to one of the biggest League of Legends showmatches in recent history.
Twitch titan and Fortnite phenom, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins will battle it out against YouTube sensation, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson in a best-of-three League of Legends showmatch on July 9 at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with a cool US$150,000 on the line. The highly-anticipated series will be available to watch on Twitch.TV in conjunction with the Crown Channel.
MrBeast got the ball rolling by roasting Ninja via Twitter, to which he dutifully responded appropriately. Soon enough, both personalities soon shared promotional posters pitting the ultimate creator against the ultimate gamer. With the Crown Channel calling it the ultimate gaming event, it will be a fun series to check out between Ninja and MrBeast.
With the series taking place in a little over two weeks, both team captains will be scrambling to look for their teammates. While we can't imagine either of them bringing in professional LoL players from the LCS or otherwise, it wouldn't be a stretch for them to bring on other big-name personalities in the scene.
The likes of Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp come to mind with the popular LoL streamer being one of the biggest content creators in the game. Bringing Tyler1 on board would also mean a bigger audience given his wide fanbase. Former Cloud9 AD carry turned streamer and content creator, Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi could also be making an appearance, given his level of experience with LoL.
The lineups for both teams should be announced in the coming days as we head towards the showdown on July 9!
