A couple of days ago, the news that Alex “Xpecial” Chu was being benched in Team Solomid reached out to the Esports community. Now, we know what the next step in his career will be. Xpecial will be joining Team Curse as their support.
Lots of people were a bit shocked when TSM manager Andy "Reginald" Dinh decided to bench Alex "Xpecial" Chu, both Fans as well as experts. While TSM has not yet signed a new support, Xpecial has moved on. He will be replacing BunnyFuFuu in Curse's botlane, and will be laning with Cop who has been swapping supports way more than what's optimal in the past months.
Xpecial said that he is extremely excited to join Team Curse and continued:
“I’m extremely excited to be here,” said Xpecial. “Recently the NA scene has evolved to where every team is competitive. Every team is looking forward to the 2014 World Championships. I felt Curse was the right spot for me to achieve my goals.”
Team Curse's owner and manager Steve Arhancet said that he is excited to sign a world-class player. He also said that he is in the progress of finding a spot for Michael "Bunny FuFuu" Kurylo, and if that fails, the plan is to rebuild the Curse Academy roster around him, so that he can play while he finish up high school. Xpecial and Team Curse seem to have the same goal in mind, 2014 World Championships. For that to happen, they need to finish 1st-3rd in what might become the strongest split ever in the North American LCS.
