With the Spring split of the LCS completed and having just finished the European relegation, we have a relatively up to date look of the performance within all regions of competing teams. With the Spring LCS coming to an end, we've seen the doors blown wide open and the potential of the once coveted "underdog" teams unleashed, yielding results on those considered throne-holders of their respective regions. Let's take a look at how this impacted the standings of the teams in our database, but first...
So how are GosuRankings calculated?
GosuRankings work very similary to your typical 'MMR' or 'Elo' system. We've recorded pretty much every match since the start of the Season 2 World Championships into our GosuBet system and the results of the game progress the teams upwards or downards based on results. Like in a ladder, a team will gain more elo defeating a stronger team and lose more elo if defeated at the hands of a weaker team. Something also taken into consideration of the algorithms is the importance of the events. For an exxagerated example, if Team FXOpen were to theoretically defeat World Elite in the World Championships, they'd gain a lot more than if they were to defeat them in a Go4LoL Qualifier. If you wish to look at the full rankings and see how teams have fluctuated within the system and who they've won or lost against to gain their points, feel free to visit the LoL rankings page. With that said, here are some interesting facts to look at in accordance to the way teams have shifted around since January.

Fun Facts
Consistently strong:
For the first time in literally about a half a year, World Elite is dethroned of this title and it therefore should go none other to Taipei Assassins. Though the team had a rough time in the StarsWar League Season 2 by being knocked out of the winner's bracket 0-2 to World Elite and then another 0-2 in the loser's bracket to Positive Energy, they have still shown they have what it takes to rule over their region with an iron fist. What else could we expect from our Season 2 World Champions, after all? Safe to say, Taipei Assassins hasn't had any significant slumps and shows they can maintain their high level of play, even with a not-so-pleasant performance in the most recent multi-region Asian online tournament. Let's see what they can bring to the next international LAN.
Most shocking change:
Though still an incredible powerhouse in the Chinese scene and presumably worldwide, World Elite finally found themselves dethroned after a nearly half-year reign. Though once thought to be invincible, World Elite have found themselves to be malleable in recent months, even losing to lower rated teams such as Wings of Aurora. Individual members such as Weixiao have been well aware of their so-called "slump" and have even publicly apologized to their community. The peak of a team's performance must always come to an end even for a short while, and World Elite now hopes to regain their former glory. However, it's not going to be easy with the entirety of LPL participants looking incredibly strong or on-par with World Elite at their prime.
Stagnating:
Though still an enormous powerhouse in the European realm, Evil Geniuses have not retained their former glory of Season 2 in which they utilized their unique playstyle to meet CJ Frost in the grand finals of OGN Summer and managed 3rd place in the Season 2 World Championship. While the team banded together and showed solid performance in the beginning of the season, they'd soon find that their style limited their performance in the new and aggressive Season 3 meta. Evil Geniuses suffered one of the worst slumps they had in a long time and was nearly eliminated to relegation matches in the LCS. However, they came back strong when they needed to and secured their place for next season. Their ADC also will be representing Europe for All-Stars.
Teams to Look Out For:
After careful consideration, this simply had to be handed to Team Solomid. Other mentions go out to OMG for climbing to the top of the LPL and SKT1 #2 who have shown that the meta is not a roadblock for them to try new and innovative strategies, Team Solomid has been the king of the North American scene since late into Season 1. However, they recently have been caught off guard by the power of Team Dignitas and Team Curse, who up until the very end were outperforming the old throne-holders. After acquiring WildTurtle, the team's synergy and cooperation has increased to the point where many believe that they can truly compete on an international scale, a confident claim that many other North American teams cannot share from feedback of the fanbase.

Conclusive Notes
- China and Korea are showing the strongest performance in the top 30, However Europe has the second largest amount within the top 30.
- Counter Logic Gaming once again managed to drop out of top 30, but so did Team Dignitas and Curse. This is due to them losing to incredibly lower rating teams, creating large shifts in Elo.
- Though the top teams have shifted, their Elo is incredibly close and a simple game or two could compeletely shift things around.
- Due to how substantial World Elite's lead was, them losing to lower rated teams devestated their Elo, dropping them from 1st to 7th.
- The top two rated teams are now held by the Season 2 World Championship finalists.
- Team Solomid is ahead of Gambit Gaming in the ratings, but only by less than a game's variance in Elo. This is because we put no regional bias into our algorithms based on regional strength and therefore require international tournaments to generate more flawless results.
- Old teams are not deleted so we can theoretically see where they stand to their opposition. This is why Millenium is still in the list.
- NaJin Sword is currently on a slump whereas Invictus Gaming and OMG have climbed above World Elite, reflecting their awesome progress.
- Just like in solo queue, the ratings should be seen as "progress", not decisively "who the best team is." Until Season 3 comes to an end, this is simply not conclusive, but where teams stand as of now.
