Everyone thought TNL, the widely respected 2nd best team in Korea, would qualify alongside MVP Black to compete in Sweden during the Summer Championship. Tempest had other plans.
This upset at the hands of Tempest has effectively changed the landscape of Korean Heroes of the Storm. TNL will not be playing in the Summer Championships in Sweden and the usual TNL vs. MVP Black matchup everyone has grown to expect from Korean majors has changed.
This Sunday, MVP Black will face Tempest to determine the winner of Super League 2016 Season two. MVP Black may be used to defeating TNL every time they meet, but some think that Tempest's recent strong performance is indictative of a surge of momentum that may threaten even the best team in the world:
If you haven't watched the series for your self, you can do so here on this past broadcast. TNL took the first game and things started to look like business as usual, but Tempest started winning game after game thanks to team compositions that were both standard and unique at the same time. Muradin and Falstad were part of every team Tempest won with but, next to these standard drafts, Kerrigan and even Chen were drafted to great effect.
TNL stuck with Kael'Thas nearly every game of the set, and some were quick to call on a dubious Kael'Thas talent builds. Whatever was the case, TNL didn't seem to expect the level of play that Tempest will bring after their first defeat in game 1.
Congratulations to Tempest and their qualification. The true test is still to come at the end of this week during the Super league finals.
