Ukrainian Vadim Shlez has a sizable lead as the final table of the Borgata Winter Poker Open main event. Shlez has a handful of WSOP cashes on his poker resume, but a stack of 4,406,000 in pursuit of the $533,210 first-place prize.
Sitting in second is unknown LJ Sande, along with Atlantic City regular Trevor Savage, and high stakes circuit regular Bobby Suer who would like to surpass the $501k score he earned for being runner-up at the 2009 WPT Southern Poker Championship.
Popular pro Gavin Smith busted in 21st, while WSOP bracelet winner Jeffrey Papola went out in 37th on Thursday.
The $3,500 main event began Sunday and drew 718 players to create a $2,369,400 prize pool. Everyone at the final table is guaranteed at least $28,729.
