The Rush To Mobile

Full Tilt Poker was the first to get to market with an app to play real money poker and more recently Full Tilt Poker's Rush Poker on Androids phones (or any that support Flash v10.1). Now comes word that Zynga, the top Facebook App maker, has released an app for Android that allows for people to play its wildly popular Zynga Poker on their mobile phones.

Zynga Poker has long been part of the iPhone network of apps helping to build the popularity of online poker, but seeing that the smartphone market is becoming more diverse with the building market of the Android based phones and the re-intervention of the Blackberry and its Torch model. Thus Zynga Poker is following Full Tilt's lead and introducing Zynga Poker to Android phones.

You can download the Zynga app on their site and use your same account you use online.

Zimba analysis:
It is interesting that the largest poker room PokerStars, has yet to develop their own app. Zynga has closed the gap on numbers of registered users with 36 million accounts, while PokerStars has over 41 million. While Zynga lags way behind in monetization of their users, the introduction of for pay to add chips and trying to patent online currency indicates Zynga plans to further develop their monetization. They already average 400,000 players at any one point during the day, numbers PokerStars doesn't get close to yet.

It seems that Blackberry will be the next smartphone market to tackle, as it's the largest smartphone market yet to be tapped.
