Week 1 of the MY Honor of Kings League Spring 2025 concluded with a dominant showing by All Gamers Global.
The MY Honor of Kings League (MKL) Spring 2025 Week 1 officially concluded with All Gamers Global (AG Global) winning all three matches they played in the league's opening week, capped off with a superb 2-0 victory over TODAK. The Malaysia branch of All Gamers also defeated DTE Gaming and Team Secret to sit in first place by the end of the week.
AG Global's debut match in the MKL Spring 2025 was a little shaky as they failed to secure game one versus DTE. However, they quickly recovered in the second and third game of the series to complete the 2-1 reverse sweep. They then followed that performance up with 2-0 victories over Team Secret and TODAK. Both series showed the flexibility of their lineup with unorthodox heroes such as Shi and Mi Yue. AG Global now sit comfortably atop the leaderboard with a 3-0 scoreline.
Here are the MY Honor of Kings League Spring 2025 standings after the end of Week 1:
- AG Global (3-0) +5 Game difference (GD)
- Nova Esports (2-0) +3 GD
- Team Secret (2-1) +2 GD
- Black Shrew Esports (1-1) +1 GD
- DTE Gaming (1-1) +0 GD
- TODAK (1-2) -2 GD
- O2 Esports (0-2) -3 GD
- Soul Esports (0-3) -6 GD
Is this the end of the Black Shrew Esports era?
The Honor of Kings Championship 2024 winner, Black Shrew Esports (BSE), looked like shells of their former selves as they only got one victory in their two matches of the week. They won the series against Soul Esports but lost again to Nova Esports, one of the teams responsible for their non-participation in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3.
While they had a new Roamer in Wang "Dian" Peidian, he still couldn't carry the team to the next level they needed to reach. Meanwhile, the team's Malaysian rivals, AG Global and Nova Esports, had already improved from the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 and taken over the league by storm. The runner-up of Honor of Kings Championship 2024, Dominator Esports, also improved and destroyed the competition in the Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL) Spring 2025 with the arrival of Hoo “TianX” Wen Feng and Wong “GuiYu” Yit Siang.
BSE still have a chance to recover in Week 2 as they will play three matches against O2 Esports, Team Secret, and TODAK. A win over O2 Esports can build up their momentum as they face stronger competition in Team Secret and eventually TODAK. However, if they can't muster a win, BSE would risk not securing a slot in the Playoffs and eventually the chance to represent Malaysia in the Honor of Kings World Cup in the 2025 Esports World Cup.
The MY Honor of Kings League Spring 2025 will continue with Week 2 on 25 April 2025. Soul Esports will face DTE Gaming in the first game of the week. Black Shrew Esports will meet against TODAK in the final game of the week.
