All-new LEGO Pokémon sets announced for release in 2026

LEGO and Pokémon are teaming up for the first time, with a new collaboration set to launch in 2026. What will trainers get to build?

A first-time collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the LEGO Group is coming, bringing two beloved worlds together brick by brick. The partnership was officially announced on Tuesday (March 18) on both the official LEGO and Pokémon websites. An official trailer was released on Pokémon’s official YouTube page as well:

The trailer showed a LEGO version of Pikachu’s tail being built, piece by piece, before it unleashed a Thunderbolt, lighting up the LEGO and Pokémon signs in the background. Sparks flew as Pikachu dashed off.

A press release was also published on the official Pokémon website. According to the release, the new partnership aims to “bring the world of Pokémon to life in entirely new ways,” specifically through the use of LEGO bricks.

LEGO and Pokémon share their excitement

Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, expressed excitement about the collaboration. “We strongly believe that through the endless possibilities of LEGO play and the exciting adventures the world of Pokémon brings, this partnership will create a range of new possibilities for Trainers and builders alike,” she said.

Her enthusiasm is shared by Gaku Susai, Chief Product and Experience Officer at The Pokémon Company International. “The LEGO Group and Pokémon have strong shared values of imagination, creativity, and fun, making this the perfect partnership to deliver unique, meaningful, and engaging ways for Trainers to experience the Pokémon brand,” he said, adding that he believes the ‘best-in-class team’ at the LEGO Group will deliver something groundbreaking through the collaboration that will “surprise and delight fans.”

“We cannot wait to see both LEGO fans and the Pokémon community’s reactions in 2026," he concluded.

Pokémon’s history with building block toys

Before LEGO, The Pokémon Company partnered with Mattel’s Mega Construx (formerly Mega Bloks) to produce Pokémon-themed sets, including the Forest Pokémon Center with Motion, Jumbo Pikachu Building Set, and the Eevee Evolution Construction Set. Pokémon also previously collaborated with Kawada Toys’ Nanoblock series, which allowed Pokémon and toy enthusiasts to build certain Pokémon from nano blocks.

Beyond official partnerships, enthusiastic builders have taken it upon themselves to bring Pokémon to life using LEGO bricks. One fan previously created a LEGO Magikarp design, while another recreated the Sinnoh Region from LEGO. Now, trainers can look forward to building them all in 2026, and get their Pokédex ready as updates on the collaboration roll out closer to the release date.
