Four-player online co-op with shared progression and local two-player split-screen are coming to the sequel.
FuturLab is ready to rinse and repeat with PowerWash Simulator 2, officially announced for a late 2025 release. This sequel to the 2022 surprise hit is scrubbing up nicely with fresh features, new locations, and even more ways to make the world squeaky clean again—at least in-game.
Unlike the first game, which was published by Square Enix, PowerWash Simulator 2 is being self-published by FuturLab itself. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, returning players to the grime-fighting action with a fresh coat of improvements.
The first PowerWash Simulator made a splash with over 17 million players enjoying the oddly satisfying experience of blasting away dirt, and the sequel looks set to lather up even more excitement.
Design Director Dan Chequer described the sequel as natural evolution. “The original game’s design was all about eliminating anything that detracted from the pure satisfaction of taking something dirty and making it clean,” said Chequer. “PowerWash Simulator 2 is all about adding in even more avenues for players to achieve that same sense of satisfaction, with new tools, features, and quality-of-life improvements.
“We're really excited to see players dust off their power washers and get stuck into this brand-new campaign, that brings you even more to clean, and even more ways to release the pressure.”
What’s new in PowerWash Simulator 2?
The new game is introducing several major upgrades to the cleaning experience, including four-player online co-op with shared progression, which was a much-requested feature by players.
Local two-player split-screen is also coming to the new game, so that players can tackle dirt side by side.
There will also be a new campaign that takes players back to Muckingham, now with even more mysteries to uncover, and a range of new grime-ridden locations Like Sponge Valley, Power Falls, and Lubri City. This time, players will also have a home base to collect furniture and decorate their own space—and even invite fellow players to admire your setup.
A new soaping system will allow players to “soap” an area before quickly rinsing away grime to make things even more squeaky clean. New objects to wash include a parade float, a tram, a teapot house, and more.
PowerWash Simulator 2 is set to release in late 2025, pending a final release date.
