The long-awaited Dune MMORPG finally revealed its release date and playable character creator.
Dune: Awakening has finally revealed its long-awaited release date. The multiplayer survival game set in the Dune universe will arrive on Steam on 20 May, 2025. Players can begin their journey today by diving into the game's character creator demo. Any characters made from the demo can be imported into the main game at launch.
In addition to character creation, the benchmark mode lets you check your hardware performance and system compatibility. The mode lets you experience dramatic scenes from the game, ranging from soaring through the sky with an ornithopter to encountering a colossal sandworm.
The Dune: Awakening base edition is priced at $49.99/€49.99 (Euros), with pre-orders starting soon. Players who pre-order Dune: Awakening will receive the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, an in-base decoration which houses the iconic desert mouse.
Players who download Dune: Awakening's full Character Creator & Benchmark Mode will receive a code for the exclusive Frameblade knife skin, which can be redeemed in the game at launch.

The character creation mode will let players take the Gom Jabbar test. Players can fine-tune every aspect of their looks and choose their home planet, caste, and mentor, be the latter a Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit, Mentat, or Trooper. The final choice will determine the player's starting abilities, but players will gain access to every School eventually, and can mix and match abilities from all of them.
The spice will flow on 20 May, 2025 when Dune: Awakening launches on Steam.
