With Valentine’s Day around the corner, here are some Zenless Zone Zero ships that fans can’t get enough of.
Valentine’s Day is almost here! If you’re a Zenless Zone Zero player, you’re probably thinking about which agent you’d like Belle or Wise to spend time with.
While HoYoverse hasn’t confirmed any official pairings canonically—whether with our proxies or among the agents themselves—that hasn’t stopped fans from setting sail with their favourite ships. To celebrate the day of hearts and all kinds of love, here are some of our favourite Zenless Zone Zero ships worth boarding for the journey
Astralyn - Astra and Evelyn
The most recent ship some fans have been rooting for involves agents Astra Yao and Evelyn. While HoYoverse has hinted that these two have a sibling-like relationship, both in-game and in interviews, fans could not help shipping these two.
For one, their dynamic just works! Astra the ever-optimistic, slightly scatterbrained, but extremely creative and full-of-life singer is able to manage her schedule, eat full meals and be overall responsible thanks to Evelyn, who is both her manager and bodyguard—and provides stability for her.
However, Astra is able to breathe life into Evelyn—who felt like Astra was the first family she’s ever had. Usually depicted as cold, business-like and having zero desire, Astra slowly changes Evelyn for the better.
Probably the cutest moment we’ve seen of them together was the most recent Evelyn EP released, Stars Align. It’s just so cute how Astra attempted to cook (gaining multiple cuts in the process) and subsequently burned fried rice (which by the way, Evelyn described in-game as the best meal she’s ever had—probably because of Astra’s intent). Then it’s so sweet that Evelyn attempts to cook too—and improves on her skills, just so Astra can eat full meals.
Then in the main story, we also see how these two fight to protect each other, how Astra readily forgives Evelyn for being a mole, and how Evelyn displays an intense drive to protect Astra. It just shows how much they really love each other—whether it’s a sibling-like relationship described in the game, or how fans might want it to be in the future.
LighterBelle - Lighter and Belle
Here’s another ship that’s as sweet as the lollipops Lighter loves sucking on: Lighter and Belle. Lighter’s background is a sad, dark, and tragic one that keeps him guarded against everyone, but when he hosts the main character (Belle or Wise) during Settlement Days, he slowly opens up, allowing them into his life.
Belle’s and Lighter's VAs also shine through here, and the pouty yet playful interaction between Lighter and Belle has become too cute to forget for many. And among all agents since release, Lighter seems to be the most hopeless romantic, constantly flirting with Belle, always asking her out for a meal or to visit Blazewood, and on one occasion, even gave her flowers—purple lilacs in fact, which can symbolise a “first love.” The sparks between these two are so undeniable. Even Orchidea tells Belle, “May your relationship flourish forever!”
While this ship could work for Wise mains too, the dynamic between Lighter and Belle is full of contrasts. Lighter comes across as the cool, popular, brooding romantic, yet he can be surprisingly awkward and dorky. Belle, on the other hand, is a little clumsy and far from athletic, but her energy and zest for life could help him heal, forgive himself, and find something—or someone—worth living for (and let’s not forget the adorable height difference!).
WiseAstra - Astra and Wise
Of course, we won’t forget another popular ship that had plenty of other fans swooning just a few weeks ago. Wise the ever-reserved, pretty dorky, but intelligent gentleman, and Astra, the adventurous and kind singer.
in Astra’s Yao’s character demo “Ridu Holidays," Astra “borrows” Wise for a day (and why is Astra sitting on Wise’s bed in the first place?!) and they spend the time doing things that are typical of a date: take photos, go shopping, drink refreshments while Astra shoots playful looks towards Wise, and share some hotpot while Wise teasingly steals the good piece from Astra.
And when Astra gives Wise the “gift," her actions were downright flirtatious, stopping only inches away from his face and looking into his eyes. Everything that can fuel a shipper’s fantasy is in the video, so many can’t help rooting for this ship too, because it’s just too cute.
SethJane - Jane and Seth
We often see Jane and Seth together in the story or during events, and that’s not the only reason why many people think they’re a great pairing. Jane, the ultra-smart, sexy, and cunning undercover agent, and the eager-beaver with a “golden retriever” personality Seth, who draws a hard line between right and wrong.
In the main story, while undercover, Seth tries to convince Jane (who he didn’t know was undercover at the time) to “turn a new leaf," vowing to help her escape and start anew. Jane, who usually makes decisions in the gray area, seems to show some admiration. And let’s not forget how one of the game’s bosses felt like a third wheel for a few minutes, as the two talked about agreeing to Seth’s plans. Plus, the dynamic is so balanced, with Jane being the mischievous dommy mommy, and Seth being the goodest boy in the N.E.P.S, that shippers can’t seem to keep the two separate.
Wiseyabi – Wise Miyabi
Our boy Wise has been rizzing almost all the influential ladies: Zhu Yuan, Astra, Caesar and Miyabi and many others—but one fan favourite ship is between Wise and Miyabi.
We all know Miyabi’s distrust of Wise and Belle as Phaeton was evident at first, but this changed as the story progresses. For players who play Wise, the way Miyabi’s trust slowly increases, especially when Tailless tried to break free, was pretty impactful.
Props to Wise’s VA in this scene, because the way this was done felt a wee bit more impactful than Belle (as a Belle main, I can confirm). When Miyabi gives the pin to Wise, shippers may have felt a spark here, especially when she said “you’re MY proxy.”
Then during random trust events, Wise and Belle have saved Miyabi multiple times from strangers who want something from her—either in politics or media. The difference in the dialogue is quite small but makes all the difference. Belle mains would tell the stranger that Miyabi is marrying into the family but never claimed she was the fiancée, only that “there’s no way she’d just ditch her fiancé.” While Wise directly claimed he was Miyabi’s fiancé.
Miyabi may be physically strong, but with childlike innocence and tendencies, Wise’s calm intelligence might be what she needs.
Of course, nobody’s stopping any fan from shipping anyone else in the story (except any minors!), because this otome game is full of possibilities and shipping material. Who’s your favourite ship?
