The best Honkai: Star Rail ships to celebrate Valentine's Day

With Valentine’s day right around the corner, here are our favourite ships from Honkai: Star Rail.

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate love in all its forms, and in Honkai: Star Rail, romance may not be at the forefront, or even be official, but that hasn’t stopped fans (or developer HoYoverse themselves!) from creating some truly unforgettable ships. Here are our favorite Honkai: Star Rail ships that will make your heart race:

Seele and Bronya

Let's start with a classic. Seele and Bronya have been a popular ship since Honkai Impact 3rd, and that has continued in Honkai: Star Rail. While the Seele-Bronya ship isn't as overt in Honkai: Star Rail as in Honkai Impact 3rd, the affection between the two is still very apparent. With Honkai: Star Rail's story still not as advanced compared to Honkai Impact 3rd, there's still a lot of room for Seele and Bronya's relationship to develop, especially once the narrative shifts back to their home planet of Belobog.

Acheron and Black Swan

As an expy of Honkai Impact 3rd's Raiden Mei, Acheron was expected to have a relationship to Honkai: Star Rail's Kiana Kaslana, or at least that's what Mei-Kiana shippers expected. However, given that Acheron's life played out very differently compared to Raiden Mei, Honkai: Star Rail gave her a new ship with an all-new character: Black Swan. And while we can go on about how Acheron and Black Swan's interactions gave rise to this new ship, the best way to grasp it is by simply watching the two dance together in the ‘Rondo Across Countless Kalpas’ animated short.

Firefly and the Trailblazer

Every game has the designated romantic interest for its main protagonist and for Honkai: Star Rail, that character is arguably Firefly. When they first met in Penacony, Firefly was quick to get close to the Trailblazer, with the two even going on a ‘date’ across the dreamscapes, culminating with the two taking an adorable selfie together in Firefly's secret base. Their relationship only grew deeper as the Penacony story progressed, with Firefly later revealing herself to be the Stellaron Hunter SAM. And with the Amphoreus storyline recently revealing that the Trailblazer was once a member of the Stellaron Hunters, the fire of the Firefly-Trailblazer ship has burned brighter than ever.

Kafka and the Trailblazer

Kafka is the very first character that players meet in Honkai: Star Rail, being the one responsible for implanting the Trailblazer with a Stellaron and pushing them to begin their journey with the Astral Express. Since then, she has kept a watchful eye on the Trailblazer, with the two meeting for the first time since the game started during the Ambrosial Arbor crisis in the Xianzhou Luofu. And if you selected the right dialogue options, Kafka would've sent you a sultry photo to prove her identity.

With the Amphoreus storyline revealing that the Trailblazer was once a member of the Stellaron Hunters, it was confirmed that Kafka and Trailblazer were ‘partners’ and that she made a lot of sacrifices to make it happen. The Trailblazer's memory of Kafka even went on to tell them that no matter what happens, they will always have a safe place by her side. It's no wonder that the Kafka-Trailblazer ship was one of the first ones to pop up, and has continued going strong since.

The Trailblazer and everyone

Just like in any other gacha game, Honkai: Star Rail leaves plenty of crumbs of affection between the Trailblazers and most characters in the game for players to self-insert. Of course, some characters are more shippable than others, but since when has that stopped players from pairing themselves with any and all available waifus and husbandos out there?
