With the PlayStation 5 Pro set to launch on Thursday (November 7), Sony has revealed the list of games that will feature the new console’s graphical enhancements once it’s out.

The list of over 50 games includes popular AAA titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Diablo 4, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Star Wars: Outlaws, Stellar Blade, The Last of Us Part 1, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered and more.

Live service games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Warframe are also included. You can check out the full list of graphically-enhanced games available on the PS5 Pro at launch here.

What graphical enhancements are available on the PS5 Pro?

Sony claims that the PS5 Pro will unleash “a new era of impressive visuals” with advanced graphical enhancements like ray tracing, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, and framerates of 60hz or 120hz through an upgraded GPU.

Sony also boasted that the console also comes with “advanced gaming technology” like advanced ray tracing and AI-driven upscaling. Here’s what those actually entail:

  • Upgraded GPU: The PS5 Pro will have 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall enabling up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay for a “smoother” experience.
  • Advanced Ray Tracing: The PS5 Pro will have powerful ray tracing that provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple the speeds of the current PS5 console.
  • AI-Driven Upscaling: The PS5 Pro will introduce PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an “extraordinary amount of detail."

If you didn’t already know, all those graphic enhancements being promised by the PS5 Pro comes at the very hefty price tag of $699.99 for just the base model. That will include a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller and a pre-installed copy of Astro’s Playroom.

Of course, gamers were not happy with the PS5 Pro’s high price tag as many felt that the graphical enhancements were not worth the added cost. But if you have deep pockets and one of your favourite games is listed above, the PS5 Pro might be a worthwhile purchase for you once it launches on November 7, 2024.
