With that out of the way, read on as we break down all the new content coming in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.5!
Feixiao, Lingsha, and Moze join the battle
Three new playable characters will be joining Honkai: Star Rail's roster in version 2.5, namely the 5-star characters Feixiao and Lingsha as well as the 4-star character Moze.
Feixiao
Feixiao wields the Wind element and follows the Path of the Hunt, specialising in dishing out tons of single-target damage against bosses and other high-priority targets. She is also the game's second character to not have an energy bar after Acheron, charging up her ultimates with special stacks called ‘Flying Aureus’ instead.
Feixiao accumulates stacks of Flying Aureus whenever she and her teammates attack enemies. Once she has enough stacks, Feixiao can activate her ultimate to unleash a flurry of attacks on a single target. Feixiao's attacks in her ultimate notably reduce enemy Toughness regardless of their elemental weakness with boosted Weakness Break Efficiency.
As the flagship character for version 2.5, Feixiao will also be getting her own animated short and Myriad Celestia trailer ahead of her release to give players more insight into her character. While she may call herself the ‘Lacking General’, Feixiao certainly isn't lacking when it comes to fanfare.
Lingsha
Lingsha wields the Fire element and follows the Path of Harmony, able to heal and cleanse debuffs from her allies with every attack from her summoned companion Fuyuan. She also increases the Break DMG received by enemies, which makes her the premier sustain support for Firefly.
Lingsha summons Fuyuan with her skill and can increase the number of actions her companion takes with further uses of this ability. Whenever Fuyuan takes its turn, it dishes out a follow-up attack on all enemies that also heals and cleanses debuffs from all allies. Lingsha can then use her ultimate to inflict the Befog debuff on enemies, which increases the Break DMG they receive.
Moze
Moze wields the Lightning element and follows the Path of the Hunt, able to dish out a significant amount of single-target damage against an enemy of his choice while also increasing the damage his allies deal to that chosen target.
Moze can mark a single enemy as his Prey and then enter a Departed state while the Prey is on the field. After allies attack the Prey, he deals additional damage. Additionally, Moze's Ultimate deals DMG to a single-target enemy and launches a follow-up attack to keep his team's offensive rolling.
Feixiao will be available in the first half banner of version 2.5, with Moze also being one of the rate-up 4-stars in that half, while Lingsha will be featured in the second half of the version.
All-new triple rerun banner with Kafka, Black Swan, and Robin
Honkai: Star Rail is also unveiling the first-ever triple rerun banner, where three limited 5-star characters can be acquired in just one banner, in version 2.5. The first half of the version will see Kafka, Black Swan, and Robin become available for pulls all at once.
During this special triple rerun banner, the Warp count for the guaranteed 5-star will be shared across both the rerun and current limited banners. Switching banners also won't reset the guarantee count, so this will be a good chance for players to add three powerful characters to their roster. Hope you have enough Stellar Jade saved up! Meanwhile, the second half of version 2.5 will return to a typical rerun banner with just one limited 5-star: Topaz.
The Wardance continues with new area and Echo of War boss
Version 2.5 will also see the continuation of the Xianzhou Luofu's Wardance storyline in the second chapter of the Trailblaze Continuance “Finest Duel under the Pristine Blue”. The advancement of this story will also see the addition of a new area in the Xianzhou Luofu and a new Echo of War boss.
This new area is called the "Skysplitter" and is the gundeck of the Xianzhou Luofu, with a massive triple-barreled cannon dominating the landscape. The area has been repurposed into an arena for the Wardance, though players should still expect a fair amount of enemies to encounter and secrets to discover as they explore.
Meanwhile, Feixiao will be testing the Trailblazer's mettle as a new Echo of War boss. In this encounter, the player will battle a shadow of the fearsome general and an apparition of her Flying Aureus, the Ecliptic Inner Beast. Feixiao's boss version will unleash more powerful attacks if the Ecliptic Inner Beast isn't Weakness Broken, so we recommend bringing a Break-focused team to this battle.
Completing the new Feixiao Echo of War challenge will give players enhancement materials for Lingsha, Moze, and other future characters. Do note that Feixiao herself will be using different enhancement materials from the Phantylia Echo of War challenge.
New Stagnant Shadow bosses and Planar Ornaments
Version 2.5 will also see the addition of two new Stagnant Shadow bosses, two new Planar Ornament sets, and the game's first-ever pet companion.
The two Stagnant Shadow bosses will give Character Ascension materials for Feixiao and Moze. Meanwhile, the new Planar Ornament sets are the Lushaka, the Sunken Seas and the Wondrous BananAmusement Park sets. The Lushaka set is a support set that boosts the ATK of the character positioned first in the party setup while the BananAmusement set gives tons of Crit DMG to its wearer if they have a summon, which includes the likes of Topaz, Lingsha, and Jing Yuan.
New events and Divergent Universe update
The main event for version 2.5 will be the “Luminary Wardance Ceremony”, which will see Luka leave Belobog for the first time to travel to the Xianzhou Luofu and participate in the Wardance. The Trailblazer will then act as his coach and assist him as he battles his way through the tournament. Other characters making an appearance in this event include Topaz, Boothill, Argenti, and even Yanqing, acting as the final boss challenge.
Completing the Luminary Wardance Ceremony challenges will also reward the player with an all-new “Tuskpir” pet companion. This cute Pig-Tapir hybrid will follow the Trailblazer around the overworld, similar to how Numby follows Topaz around when she is the active character, and just generally be adorable.
The other events in this version include the “Festive Revelry” puzzle event as well as reruns of the “Planar Fissure” and “Realm of the Strange” events to help players farm up more relics.
Version 2.5 will also feature an update to the Divergent Universe, which will feature new Curios, Weighted Curios, and Adventure Domain challenges. The update will also tweak existing Equations, Curios, and Weighted Curios while also increasing the Synchronicity level cap to level 80.
Gift of Odyssey returns with free additional 1,000 Stellar Jade
Finally, version 2.5 will also see the return of the beloved “Gift of Odyssey” log-in event that gives players a total of 10 Star Rail Special Passes over the course of seven days.
In addition, players will also receive an additional reward of 1,000 Stellar Jade, 10 Fuel, and 150 Tears of Dreams courtesy of Feixiao. Yeah, this is Feixiao telling you to pull for her.
Honkai: Star Rail version 2.5 will be released on September 10 and is expected to last for 40 days. For more information on what's to come in the update, check out the full preview livestream here.
