We have a release date for Peter and Miles' next adventure, which features Venom as their big bad.
Insomniac Games dropped by Summer Game Fest to confirm a release date for Marvel's Spider-Man 2: October 20, 2023. The third-person action-adventure game is being touted as one of Insomniac's most ambitious games yet, expanding New York City as an open world and featuring dual protagonists in Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
Here’s some new art for the game, featuring Venom:
Unfortunately, we didn't get more gameplay for the sequel today. What we did get was early confirmation that Eddie Brock wouldn't be playing host to the symbiote in Spider-Man 2, as Insomniac is changing things up here. Given that the previous game ended on a tease that Peter's best friend Harry Osbourn was turning to the symbiote as a cure to a fatal disease, it's safe to say that it'll be Harry instead.
Insomniac also confirmed that Venom and Kraven are far from the only villains featured in Spider-Man 2. Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable Spider-Man, with the ability to swap between either character in the open-world freely. Peter will be infected by the Venom symbiote in this sequel, making him quite a bit… angrier. He isn't putting up with Kraven's shenanigans, that's for sure.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20, 2023 on the PlayStation 5.
