Sumail has left the Quincy Crew. The team is now looking for an offlaner.
Only a few hours after qualifying for the first minor of the season, QCY Manager Jack Chen announced that Syed Sumail "Suma1L" Hassan left the roster :
A lot of the Quincy members had to compromise heading in the new season, adjusting positions so everyone could play together, but it seemed that something didn't work out as planned as Sumail decided to leave Quincy Crew after qualifying to The Summit minor.
The team didn't make it to the Chengdu Major after painful a 2-0 loss against Fighting Pandas, but making it to the minor they still had a last chance to secure their ticket to China at the Summit.
Their manager claims there are no hard feelings and the circumstances were only a bit complicated as Jack clarified further:
Quincy Crew is now looking for an offlane player to attend The Summit, signifying that Yawar will probably be going back to position one. Unforunately, the team will be take a point deduction per the DPC rules for playing with a different team member after qualifying.
Can a team remove a player after qualifying to a tournament? NEW
Yes. However, a team that removes a player after securing a slot at a minor or a major, will have a 20% deduction to the points obtained during that event in addition to the normal penalty.
The normal penalty is a 40% penalty on points earned from that tournament.
Sumail parted ways with Evil Geniuses last September after spending the most of his career there, and decided to form a new team alongside his brother Yawar "YawaR" Hassan where he switched to the carry role.
His status remains unknown for now.
