MDL Chengdu Major will be the first Major of the DPC 2019-2020 season.
MDL will hold it's 10th iteration of events in Chengdu, Sichuan on November 16-24th. This will be the first Major of the season for teams on the road to TI2020.
MDL's last event was MDL Disneyland Paris Major in May 2019 which came to a thrilling end when Team Secret trampled over Team Liquid 3:1 to take the championship title.
As with all Majors in the DPC, 15 teams determined via qualifiers and the lucky winner of the BTS Dota Summit Minor will battle it out for the lion's share of the $1,000,00,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.
The qualifiers will be taking place in just a few weeks, October 5-10th, in combination with the qualifiers for the first Minor which will be taking place in Los Angeles, California November 7-10th.
Teams have until September 28th to register their official teams in order to be invited to the closed qualifiers for the first wave.

MDL Chengdu Major Format
Phase 1:
4 Bo3 GSL groups of 4.
Top 2 teams per group advance to Upper bracket.
Bottom 2 teams per group advance to lower brackets.
Phase 2:
16 team Double Elimination with 8 starting in Lower Bracket.
Bo1 matches for 1st round of the lower bracket.
Bo5 finals,
Bo3 every other game.
