Gambit and Old but Gold slide into Starladder ImbaTV Kiev Minor

Gambit and Old but Gold will represent the CIS region in Kiev for the Starladder ImbaTV Minor next month.

Two slots were bestowed upon the teams from the CIS region to be the local heroes for the event. This resulted in an extended regional qualifier format with teams playing in two different phases.

Both Gambit and Old but Gold were invited to participate in the second phase of the qualifiers after assuming 3rd and 4th place, respectively, in the DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major qualifiers.

The second phase was a four-team, double elimination bracket playoff bout.

Not surprising was to see Gambit take the first slot with a dominating run through the playoffs. Gambit has already made two prior appearances in the DPC - at Kuala Lumpur Major where they took 13-16th place and Bucharest Minor where they took an impressive 2nd place finish.

Old but Gold, on the other hand, had only just formed their team a few weeks ago at the end of January in order to compete in the DreamLeague Season 11 Major and Starladder ImbaTV Minor qualifiers.

Although Old but Gold had been swept to the lower brackets in the first round by Team Empire, they bested their opponents and persevered in order to claim the second slot.

The third Minor of the DPC 2018-2019 season will be held in Kiev, Ukraine March 7th to the 10th.

Eight teams will battle it out for the lion's share of the $300,000 prize pool, 500 DPC points and the highly coveted ticket to the DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major.
