Following a particularly lackluster elimination from ESL One Birmingham, Evil Geniuses decided to relieve MiSeRy and Fear of their duties with further updates looming.

Rasmus ‘MiSeRy’ Filipsen lit up the twitter-verse today with the announcement of his departure from Evil Geniuses. Since his arrival Evil Geniuses have experienced limited success with a notable performance at ESL One Genting 2018 and having won only GESC: Indonesia Minor. Shortly after, Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis made a similar announcement.

The honeymoon period after their minor victory faded quickly and the squad struggled to overcome Dota 2 juggernauts like Virtus.pro and Team Liquid. Further difficulties emerged down the final stretch of the DPC season as they were eliminated from events by Keen Gaming and Team Spirit.

Evil Geniuses thanked MiSeRy for his efforts with the team via twitter. Part of the statement included news that an update on the roster will be issued some time before the Supermajor begins. The tournament is scheduled to begin June 2. Evil Geniuses have also released an update on Facebook thanking both players.

The roster change means Evil Geniuses is removed from qualifying for The International 2018 by way of DPC points. They will also forego a direct invite to the regional qualifiers and be forced to compete in a highly anticipated NA open qualifier. They will be joined by the likes of compLexity, Immortals and a significantly improved VGJ.Storm.
