The penultimate event of the Pro Circuit 2017-2018 season will be featuring a 'super' format including double elimination brackets for both the group stage and the main event - spanning over the course of eight days of competition.
The China SuperMajor format has been reported to be inspired by the Manila Major —hailed as one of the most successful events. The tournament will begin on June 2nd with the group stage lasting only two days but jam-packed with action as four groups of four teams will compete in a double-elimination format.
In the end, all 16 teams will advance to the main stage which will also feature double elimination, best-of-three brackets. Despite the sheer number of games that viewers online will be able to enjoy, only the last two days of the main event will be held in front of a live audience at Shanghai Yuanshen Sports Centre Stadium. Tickets for the event will go on sale in early May.
The tournament will be held in Shanghai, China in early June worth $1,500,000 and 2,250 DPC points. A total of 16 teams will compete at the event, ten invited directly and six qualified teams —one from each of the designated regions.
