Citing 'family matter' for one of the players, Mineski has withdrawn from the AMD SAPPHIRE Dota Pit scheduled to take place in Split, Croatia November 2-5th.
Only two weeks before their scheduled appearance at their third Minor for the season, the organization made the announcement that the team would be withdrawing from DotaPit Minor. Instead of finding a stand in player to fill the role, the team has decided to pull together as a team and pull out of the event entirely.
Missing DotaPit Minor means the team will forgo the change to seize a maximum of 150 TI8 qualifying points. Mineski has already secured 90 points per player since taking 2nd place in StarLadder Invitational Minor only days ago when they fell in the Grand Finals 3:1 to Team Liquid. The team will still participate in PGL Open Bucharest Minor with a maximum of 150 points per player getting ready to kick off tomorrow, October 19th-22nd.
As of now, DotaPit has not announced which team will replace the SEA powerhouse. Many speculate that Fnatic would receive the invite having taken the 2nd place position in the SEA regional qualifiers after being narrowly edged out 3:2 by Mineski. Securing any required visas for the players should not be an issue based on their nationalities and previous travel and competitive history.
Dota Pit is the third minor of the Pro Circuit and as all the minors from this end of the year, it has a $300,000 prize pool and a total of 300 TI8 qualifying points to offer to the eight attending teams. The event will be played behind closed doors with no live audience, being hosted at the Meridian Lav Hotel in Split Croatia, November 2-5.
