Clutch Gamers surprise SEA to take Summit 7 qualifier spot

Clutch Gamers seize the first qualifier spot for Summit 7. The all Filipino team surprised fans across the world as they swooped in to take the SEA regional spot for the main event.

Created only before the Kiev Major qualifiers, Clutch Gamers, a Malaysian based Filipino team are already turning heads and dragging attention to their progress.

The Summit 7 online qualifiers in the SEA region began ten days ago. The closed qualifiers were stacked with the most notable teams in the region competing for the one allocated spot for the main event. Teams such as Team Faceless, TnC Pro, Mineski and Fnatic were in contention and revered as the strongest candidates. Little did viewers know, it would be the dark horse that would become the leader of the pack and charge forward with uncontested strength and power.

Clutch Gamers took the first place finish in their group stage with a 2:0 record. Taking the top seed in the brackets, they then trampled over WG.Unity 2:0 and bested Happy Feet 2:1 before heading into the grand finals.

The newly formed team wasn't done yet and held steadfast onto their momentum, knocking out WG.Unity in a second sweep 3:0 in the Grand Finals.

They have since had success in minor events in the region and most notably took a commendable 4th place in the Kiev Major SEA qualifiers.

It was shortly after their participation in the Kiev Major SEA qualifiers that they replaced Avelino "Ab1ng" Parungao with Khim "Gabbi" Villafuerte  - the only roster change since the team was created.
