Xiao8 has been officially released from NewBee and can now be looking for a new team - which he supposedly already found in LGD-Gaming.
Ning 'Xiao8' Zhang's move to LGD Gaming seems to be just an announcement away from being official, as Newbee's Owner stated via a post on his Weibo that he is no longer a NewBee player anymore and is headed towards LGD. The post rougly translates to:
"There are simply too many words I wanted to share with everyone. Too many unexpected things came up, we went through a lot. It is not anyone's fault. It is just human nature. Mikasa's TI money will be paid to him. The prize money was given directly to the players. Because of Valve's tax documents problem, players cannot convert their money from dollar to yuan. Newbee hasn't gotten a cent from winning ti4 yet. After we have gotten the money exchanged, we'll pay Mikasa. As far as xiao8, he did go to LGD, he wants to be part of TI, it's his dream. We do not need to stand in his way. Just wanted to make those two points clear."
The transfer talks started with rumours that Xiao8 will be moving to LGD. After a few days, Xiao8 suggested on his stream that the deal might be off because Newbee were allegedly asking LGD Gaming to buyout his contract for the steep price of $798,129 (5,000,000 RMB), he also revealed that he didn't sign a physical contract, he orally agreed to a two year commintment to Newbee. Under Chinese Labour Law, his oral agreement was enough to validate a contract. This mess was cleared up with this Weibo post.
An official statement from LGD regarding the matter has not been made yet. The rumored LGD roster with xiao8 and Maybe joining seems to be taking form.
