Dota 2 League Western Challenge is nearing its end with only a few handful matches remaining. Resuming tonight, Evil Geniuses will go up against Fnatic in a best-of-three winner bracket finals.
Sitting on top of a prize pool over $64,500, Dota 2 League Western Challenge is inching closer to its conclusion. With only 5 matches remaining, we will soon see a champion crowned in the next two days. Cloud9 and Team Empire will start off the games tonight in round 2 of the lower bracket at 18.00 CEST.
Looking a bit shaky, Cloud9 were dropped down to the lower bracket by the former roster of RoX.KIS in a three game thriller. Living up to their name, Goblak and company pulled out yet another upset on the The International 2014 attendees in an amazing fashion.
Meanwhile, Team Empire showed zero restraints against Fnatic as they displayed yet another versatile performance with innovative picks. Fly once again drafted the unconventional Earthshaker for H4nn1 combined with Excalibur's Shadow Fiend and n0tail's Kunkka which resulted in an easy victory in game one.
The boys in Black and Orange continued dominating game two, with Excalibur's Meepo completely demolishing any hopes for the CIS team to bounce back. Despite the high burst damage for Empire, they were unable to capitalize on any opportunities in the second game.
Moving on, Fnatic will face Evil Geniuses tonight in the winner bracket finals at 21.00 CEST. The winner will proceed on to the grand finals whilst the loser will get a final chance to redeem themselves from the lower bracket.
