After two months of inactivity, Crystallis has returned to competitive play as Tundra Esports' new carry player.
Western European Dota 2 powerhouse Tundra Esports have welcomed
Remco “Crystallis” Arets as the team’s new carry player to replace
Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov, who departed the lineup to take a break from competitive play on Tuesday (March 18). The new squad will debut in the upcoming Tier 1 tournament, FISSURE Universe Episode 4, set to start in two days.
Tundra Esports' current Dota 2 roster is as follows:
Remco “Crystallis” Arets
Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov
Neta “33” Shapira
Martin “Saksa” Sazdov
Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon
Tundra have experienced a rollercoaster ride in the past couple of days, going from finishing as runners-up in PGL Wallachia Season 3 to parting ways with carry player dyrachyo, and now welcoming a new member to the team.
Dyrachyo's departure, rooted in his loss of desire to compete, was unexpected as the team was in dominant form. However, the face of his replacement isn’t really a surprise. Crystallis has been one of the high-profile free agents in Dota 2, and it only makes sense for Tundra to grab him onto their active roster.
Crystallis has played for several notable organizations throughout his career, spending the majority of his time with Team Secret, with which he secured 2nd place at The International 2022. He last played for
PARIVISION in the final quarter of 2024, where his brief stint with the team yielded impressive results, including a victory at ESL One Bangkok 2024 to close out the year.
However, entering 2025, Crystallis was replaced by the young prodigy in Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov in PARIVISION. After more than two months on PARIVISION’s bench, Crystallis will now continue competing alongside Tundra Esports.
Crystallis to debut with Tundra Esports in FISSURE Universe Eps 4
Tundra Esports may not have to worry too much about their recent roster change. With his impressive track record, it's likely that Crystallis will synergize well with the team, allowing them to maintain their status as a formidable threat in upcoming tournaments.
Their next challenge will be FISSURE Universe Episode 4, which begins on 22 March. The new Tundra Esports squad will face many of the current top teams there, including Team Liquid,
Team Spirit, and
Team Falcons, for a slice of the US$500,000 prize pool.
