In just over 24 hours, TI12 will kick off in Seattle with 20 of the best teams competing for the lion's share of the prize pool and the Aegis of Champions.

Three weekends of glorious Dota 2 will kick off tomorrow with the Group Stage. Twenty teams will begin, and only one will seize the Aegis of Champions and the lion's share of the $3 MILLION prize pool.

The International 2023 Group stage
Unlike previous years, The International for this year is split into two distinct phases; the group stage and playoffs (until the top 8) are announced as under the phase The Road to The International, while the playoffs for the remaining 8 teams are announced as The International itself.
The International 2023 Group Stage Format
20 teams will start the journey to the grand finals tomorrow, October, 12th. Over the course of four days, teams will battle it out for the main event seeding and one team from each group will fail to realize their TI12 dreams.
- Group Stage - October 12th - October 15th, 2023
- Phase One
- Four groups of five teams each
- Single round-robin
- All series are Bo2
- Top two teams in each group will get matched with opponents from either the 3rd or 4th place teams in the opposite group (A/B and C/D) for phase two
- The bottom team in each group is eliminated
- Phase Two
- The remaining sixteen teams play eight Bo3 head-to-head matches to determine main event bracket placement

The International 2023 Main Event format
Main Event - October 20 - October 22 (Playoffs Weekend) & October 27 - October 29 (Finals Weekend), 2023
- Sixteen teams play in a double-elimination bracket
- Eight teams begin in the Upper Bracket, and eight in the Lower Bracket
- Grand Final is Bo5, all other series are Bo3
The International 2023 Prize Pool
The initial prize pool of the tournament is $1,600,000.
An additional 25% of all Compendium sales are added to the total prize pool. The current total prize pool $2,926,448 which means $1,326,448 has been added.
The International 2023 Broadcasts
The event will be officially streamed in five different languages - English, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese. In addition, there will be other streams with various languages available for fans across the globe.

The International 2023
The International returns to the US after four editions held around the world. TI7 was the last edition hosted by the Key Arena in Seattle, where Team Liquid lifted the Aegis of Champions. From there on, each year TI went to different parts of the globe. Key Arena, which now is Climate Pledge arena from Seattle will be the home for The International 2023.
The top eight teams will play at the Climate Pledge Arena, for a shot at the most wanted Dota 2 trophy, the Aegis of Champions.
