Team Liquid and Bad News Eagles unfortunately are the first two teams to be disqualified.
The first three rounds of the Legends stage for PGL Major Antwerp are over, and four teams have received their placing in the competition thus far. The first Major for CS:GO of the year has delivered some amazing matches, and incredible surprises to the community.
Team Spirit and Natus Vincere have been confirmed as the first two teams that will be moving forward to the Champions stage later in the week. The two teams saw a clean 3-0 sweep in standings, while at the same time conceded a round to their opponents in Round 3 – Copenhagen Flames for the former and Ninjas in Pyjamas for the latter.
The two top teams have secured their spots in the prestigious tournament by beating teams like FURIA, Heroic, G2 Esports and BIG. Team Spirit on are showing great performance throughout the tournament with Na’Vi showing their usual level of expertise and finesse to be in the top two.
With winners, there will be losers – as Team Liquid and Bad News Eagles are the first two teams to not qualify for the playoffs. While they are a big name in the community, they failed to convert that presence to meaningful play as they lost to Heroic, FURIA and Team Vitality in their Legends matches.
For debutant Bad News Eagles meanwhile, they lost their games against Copenhagen Flames, FaZe Clan and Imperial Esports. Even so, for a first-time team, they played a good game and qualified to the Legends stage in their first international LAN event.
The next round of Legends matches will determine the next three teams which will qualify for the playoffs, and the next three who will be leaving the tournament. Follow the tournament at our PGL Major Antwerp page HERE to get the latest results and info from Belgium.
