POCO has unveiled the POCO F7 Pro and Ultra, launching this week.
POCO has officially unveiled the POCO F7 Series at a launch event in Singapore. The phone manufacturer revealed that the POCO F7 will consist of Pro and Ultra models, but will surprisingly forgo a base vanilla model. The F7 Ultra will be the first of its kind in POCO’s lineup, to boot. At the event held today (27 March, 2025), the company also officially confirmed pricing details and launch dates for the POCO F7 lineup.
POCO F7 hardware specifications: What’s the difference between a Pro and an Ultra?

The POCO F7 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform – a flagship chipset from Qualcomm, which sees the phone double down on improving in-game performance. Xiaomi claims that the chipset delivers up to a 45% boost in CPU performance and up to a 44% boost in GPU performance. The phone maker is also introducing a line-wide first for its Ultra model: it will feature its own dedicated graphics chip, called the VisionBoost D7 chipset.
Other software upgrades, such as WildBoost Optimisation 4.0 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, push the phone further into being a genuinely compelling mobile gaming device. Xiaomi claims that it’s able to run Genshin Impact at 2K Super Resolution with 120fps gameplay for at least an hour, while also keeping its temperatures low.
The POCO F7 Pro, on the other hand, will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, last seen in 2023’S Xiaomi 14. While might seem a little outdated on the outset, the phone also features a few software tricks to make gaming a smooth experience, like WildBoost Optimisation 4.0 and Smart Frame Rate, both of which combine to provide higher framerates with as little lag as possible when playing video games – POCO provides Genshin Impact as a specific example in this instance. For the Pro model, Xiaomi is targeting up to 120fps gameplay, with Genshin Impact being able to run at 90fps here.
More upgrades for the POCO F7 Series

The F7 Series sports a few more upgrades shared among both of its Pro and Ultra models, such as its all-new LiquidCool Technology 4.0. This is a cooling solution that is capable of reducing device temperatures by up to three degrees celsius, making those long 120fps Genshin playthroughs that much more feasible.
As for the devices’ batteries, they differ slightly: the POCO F7 Ultra boasts a 5,300 mAH battery while the POCO F7 Pro has a 6,000mAh battery. Their cameras differ slightly as well. The POCO F7 Ultra has a triple-lens setup, featuring a 50MP HDR main camera, a floating telephoto lens, and a 32MP ultra-wide camera. The POCO F7 Pro has a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, by comparison.
Both the Ultra and Pro models will be available in two storage variants: 12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB.
