Dreamhack and FACEIT have teamed up to create one of the largest events in the leagues history, with a total of $150,000 up for grabs at the event, a huge upgrade from Dreamhack Valencia's previously-announced $40,000 prize pool while it was still part of Dreamhack's Open circuit. However, the previously-announced Open BYOC event will still be played out at Valencia.

Instead of hosting seperate qualifers as planned as an Open event, teams will come from FACEIT's regional leagues in Ocenia. North America, and Europe, with a total of eight teams being allowed into the event from all three. Dreamhack's project manager Michael Van Driel had the following to say about the changes to the event:

DreamHack is really excited to partner up with FACEIT in Valencia, with more and more tournaments popping up in CS:GO with the explosion of the games popularity, teams are being more and more exhausted, and fans are being overwhelmed with content that may not be as engaging as it previously was. With this partnership we’re confident we’re taking the right steps to have a sustainable and balanced long term ecosystem within CS:GO while raising the bar for both players and the community.
