FACEIT has announced that their 2015 Global Offensive league will feature the largest prize pool for a league in the game's history, and will be expanding to Oceania in addition to North America and Europe.
FACEIT's third Global Offensive league will go above and beyond its previous two editions, not only upping the prize pool for its year-long league from $70,000 to $270,000, but also by expanding to to Oceania.
The format will be similar to previous iterations, with two stages culminating with LAN qualifiers which will determine who moves on to the third and final stage, the LAN finals, which will bring together the top 8 teams from each region. Major changes will be coming to the promotion/demotion systems, where the bottom two teams from the first two stages of each region will be demoted to a lower bracket qualifier that will feature a mix of invite teams and winners of seperate tournaments hosted by FACEIT.
At this time, no schedule for the league has been announced, but it should be expected to kick off near the end of the month.
