TmG removed from WC3L

[s]clan_news[/s]

"This is indeed a major setback", writes Charlie about the fact that Trademark-Gamers have been disqualified in the WC3L IX due to too many penalty points. The last two points were given out because of HomeRunBall playing with a different clan tag in a cash prize tournament.

The ESL administration has decided to remove United States Trademark-Gamers from the WC3L IX qualifier. They received two many penalty points, which results in a removal from the qualifier. Korea HomeRunBall, one of TmG's star players, broke the rules by playing in the Game Festival Season #1 with a different clan tag - Lof.HomeRunBall. This is not allowed, says the WC3L rules, and was because of that given another 2 penalty points.

WC3L IX qualifier rule:

Penalty points are awarded as a result of missing replays or other minor infractions of the WC3L's rules. When a team gets 3 or more penalty points it loses a wildcard. If no wildcard is left the team autoloses a match randomly selected by the admins. If a team gets 5 penalty points it will be removed from the tournament.

Charlie: "We were one of the favourites to qualify"

Charlie, the director of Trademark-Gamers, was quick to post an official statement on the TmG site. In it, he explains that mistakes in scheduling and missing one replay before this were the reasons for penalty points before. With these two penalty points, Charlie says that "This is indeed a major setback, considering we were one of the favorites to qualify."

This means that Germany noClan.Dubrovnik gets an autowin in the Loser Bracket against TmG, and will be up against Germany Qpool.WC3.
