Paper Rex, Wolves Esports advance to upper bracket finals at VALORANT Masters Toronto

Meanwhile, both Sentinels and Gen.G drop to the lower bracket quarterfinals.

The stakes continue to rise at VALORANT Masters Toronto, as four top teams clashed for control of the upper bracket. Paper Rex (PRX) and Wolves Esports emerged victorious, with both delivering commanding 2-0 sweeps over Sentinels and Gen.G Esports, respectively, to advance to the upper bracket final.

All four teams secured a spot their Playoffs slot after surviving the Swiss Stage. In the Playoffs, each team continued to prove why they made it this far, as each squad took down a regional titan in their respective upper bracket quarterfinal matches. PRX stunned tournament favourites G2 Esports, Sentinels defeated China’s top seed XLG Esports, Wolves dismantled Pacific frontrunners Rex Regum Qeon, and Gen.G outplayed EMEA powerhouse Fnatic.

Here’s how the latest series played out:

Paper Rex sweep Sentinels 2-0

Paper Rex defeated Sentinels at the Upper Bracket Semifinals at VALORANT Masters Toronto.

Game one on Split was a clinic from the Pacific side. PRX ran away with the first half, closing it out 10-2. After switching sides, they wasted no time closing out the map, conceding just one more round before sealing a dominant 13-3 win.

Sentinels found more footing on Sunset, taking the first half 7-5. But PRX kept their composure, rallying with an 8-4 second half to close the map 13-11 and secure the series.

Wolves take down Gen.G 2-0

Wolves Esports swept Gen.G Esports at the Upper Bracket Semifinals at VALORANT Masters Toronto.

Gen.G came out swinging on Split, ending the first half 9-3 in their favour. But the Wolves mounted a ferocious second-half comeback, flipping the script with a 10-2 run to snatch the map 13-11.

Sunset followed a similar script. Gen.G led at the half 8-4, but Wolves once again surged back, dominating the final stretch 9-1 to take the map 13-9 and wrap up the series 2-0.

Paper Rex and Wolves Esports now move on to face each other in the upper bracket finals on 20 June at 8:00 AM PST / 21 June at 12:00 AM SGT.

Meanwhile, Sentinels and Gen.G drop to the lower bracket quarterfinals. Gen.G will take on G2 Esports on 17 June at 8:00 AM PST / 18 June at 12:00 AM SGT, while Sentinels will go up against Fnatic on 17 June at 12:00 PM PST / 18 June at 3:00 AM SGT.
