‘Shinpai Muyou’ will drop globally on 11 July as VCT Pacific Heads to Japan for Stage 2 Finals.
Riot Games, the developer of VALORANT, has announced a collaboration with Japanese rapper and singer Yuki Chiba to release the official anthem for the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Stage 2. Titled Shinpai Muyou, the track marks Yuki Chiba’s first foray into gaming-related music and will be released globally on all streaming platforms on 11 July via Coup D'Etat Recordings.
A music video for the anthem will also premiere on the VCT Pacific YouTube channel on the same day.
“Music is a huge part of how we celebrate the incredible fandom in our region," Jake Sin, Head of VALORANT Esports for APAC, said in a press release. "So being able to work with someone as talented as Yuki Chiba to create our anthem is a dream, especially since we are hosting our Finals roadshow in Japan for the first time,” he added.
What is Shinpai Muyou?
Shinpai Muyou delivers an energetic soundscape, blending a punchy bassline with lively drums. Yuki Chiba’s signature flow rides the beat, punctuated by a chant-heavy chorus designed to resonate with fans. Translating roughly to “no worries,” the title reflects a theme of self-belief and staying positive.
For Chiba, the message is personal: “Shinpai Muyou is a reminder to myself and my fans to not worry and always believe in yourself. There’s no need to stress when you can just vibe.”
Yuki Chiba is widely recognised as a pivotal figure in Japanese hip-hop. Formerly known as KOHH (King of Hiphop), a moniker he retired in 2021, he first rose to prominence in the early 2010s as part of a new generation of rappers bringing raw trap influences to Japan’s music scene.
After stepping away from music under the KOHH alias, Chiba made a highly anticipated return in 2024 using his real name. His track “チーム友達” (Team Tomodachi, or Team Friendship) quickly became a cultural flashpoint, sparking a wave of remixes across Japan and Southeast Asia. He followed this momentum with a feature on Megan Thee Stallion’s cross-cultural single Mamushi, and later released a full-length album titled Star, solidifying his comeback.
The anthem’s launch coincides with the lead-up to VCT Pacific Stage 2, set to begin on 15 July in Seoul, Korea. The stage will conclude with a live finals event in Tokyo on 30–31 Augustmarking the first time the VCT Pacific Finals will be held in Japan.
Stage 2 will play a key role in determining the four teams that qualify for VALORANT Champions in Paris later this year. Two teams will qualify directly from Stage 2, with the remaining two spots decided by Championship Points accumulated throughout the 2025 season.
Tickets for the Tokyo Finals will go on sale soon. Full details will be made available on the official VALORANT Esports website.
