Fnatic handed FUT Esports their ticket home after a clean 2-0 sweep.
Fnatic dominated FUT Esports in the first elimination series of the day. The team kicked off the do-or-die match up with a strong showing.
The first game was a lightweight for Fnatic. The team picked Split and made it their stronghold. They infiltrated the defenses of FUT Esports easily and showed their sheer dominance.
FUT Esports couldn’t answer back as they started to crumble under Fnatic’s hands. It took them five rounds to break Fnatic’s momentum. They took two back-to-back rounds but that would be all they got for the defending side.
Jake "Boaster" Howlett ended their attack with an impressive 4k. The first half heavily favored Fnatic with a 10-2 score.
With a huge deficit on board, FUT Esports failed to engineer a runback and had to tap out of Game 1. Fnatic built on that momentum going into the second game.
FUT Esports tried to contest the second game but Fnatic was such a formidable enemy. The team ended the first half in a two-point advantage but Fnatic quickly retaliated.
Once again, Fnatic won the pistol round and the enemy’s bonus round. A few more back and forth affairs set up the game to a 9-9 score.
FUT Esports held on to their lifeline but Fnatic was eager to end the series in a clean sweep. Fnatic takes advantage thanks to Emir "Alfajer" Beder’s perfect timing.
Undoubtedly, the MVP of the series is Alfajer who scored 45/19/2 KDA. He chalked up impressive plays on Cypher and Killjoy that propelled his team to victory.
It was a rough draw for FUT Esports as the team faced two heavy fan-favorites in their playoffs matchups. FUT Esports didn’t survive the wrath of Paper Rex during the opening match of the main stage. Unfortunately, another powerhouse team was sent to them in the lower bracket.
Fnatic continues their tournament in the lower bracket. It will definitely be a tougher battle for their next do-or-die series as they face either Paper Rex or LOUD.
