Honor of Kings: Yixing guide, arcana, and equipment

Here's a guide for Yixing, The Weiqi master from Chang'an in Honor of Kings.

The Weiqi master of Chang'an is the main character of the Honor of Kings episode in Amazon's Secret Level, and a mage hero in the Hero's Gorge. Yixing saw the world as a Weiqi board. He excels in controlling his opponent, whether by limiting their movement or slowing them with his Weiqi stone.

Yixing is a control mage, which means that he can deal damage while dishing out a substantial amount of crowd control. His power lies in team fights, where he can limit the opponent's movement with his ultimate skill while launching them using his second skill. He is primarily played in mid-lane but is also eligible in the roamer.

Here’s Yixing's skill breakdown, along with his equipment, arcana, and tips on how to play him effectively:

Skills breakdown

Passive: Maintaining Initiative

Yixing's Basic Attack deal magical damage, and skill hits apply 1 stack of Anti-Qi. At 4 stacks, a Weiqi stone is summoned below the enemy, dealing (100 to 184+10% Magical Attack) magical damage. This Weiqi stone is then pulled to the centre of Skill 2's Weiqi formation, dealing (170 to 310+11% Magical Attack) magical damage to enemies in its path. He gains 1 permanent Weiqi stone every time he scores a kill or assist. Each permanent Weiqi stone grants 1 Magical Attack. When taking fatal damage, he enters the void, summoning a Weiqi stone below his feet while gaining immunity to all damage and 30% Movement Speed for 1 second. This effect has a cooldown of 150 seconds.

When Weiqi stones summoned by Anti-Qi marks hit an enemy multiple times within a short duration, subsequent hits deal only 50% damage.

Skill 1: Sliding stones

Places a Weiqi stone at the target location, gaining vision around it for 3 seconds, dealing (100 to 200+18% Magical Attack) magical damage, and reducing Taking Liberties' cooldown by 0.5 seconds. The Weiqi stone lasts for 12 seconds. If a Weiqi formation is created, the Weiqi stone will be pulled toward its centre, dealing (180 to 370+30% Magical Attack) magical damage to enemies in its path while slowing them by 50% for 1 second. Hitting an enemy this way will enhance his Basic Attack to deal (100 to 125+60% Physical Attack+18% Magical Attack) magical damage.

When the number of permanent Weiqi stones reaches 50/110/181, he gains an extra one-off skill that further improves his enhanced Basic Attack and grants a burst of Movement Speed for 5 seconds. The enhanced Basic Attack improvements are a scattershot effect/17% damage boost/34% damage boost.

He stacks 1 Weiqi stone every 6 seconds for up to 2 Weiqi stones. If an enemy is hit by multiple Weiqi stones being pulled to the Weiqi formation within 0.5 seconds, subsequent hits only deal 50% of the initial damage. On-hit effects of enhanced Basic Attacks are reduced to 30%.

Skill 2: Taking Liberties

Yixing deals (160 to 320 +25% Magical Attack) magical damage in the target area, which expands into a Weiqi formation. Enemies within the central area take (160 to 320 +25% Magical Attack) extra magical damage and are pulled toward the centre of the formation.

The Weiqi formation lasts 10 seconds. If Yixing passes through the formation's edge, he gains a 50% Movement Speed increase that diminishes over 1 seconds, while enemy heroes that do so gain a stack of Anti-Qi. Each effect can only be triggered once. If Yixing moves too far away from the formation, it disappears.

This skill deal 180% more damage to non-hero units.

Ultimate: The World is My Board

Yixing's position becomes the corner of a void Weiqi board. After 1.5 seconds, the board takes shape and launches enemies within it for 0.5 seconds. The Weiqi board lasts 4 seconds, during which enemy heroes cannot leave it. The board adds 3 Anti-Qi marks to enemy heroes over time and exposes their location. If he successfully traps an enemy hero, he gains 1 charge of Sliding Stones.

The smaller the Weiqi board, the shorter the cooldown, for a maximum reduction of 25%. When the Weiqi board is fully formed, Yixing gains 30 to 70% Movement Speed that diminishes over time.

Arcana

This build uses three Arcana for Yixing: ten Nightmare, ten Tribute,  and ten Reincarnation. These Arcana focus on enhancing his damage-dealing capabilities and giving him a little lifesteal to make him more durable. Because Yixing relies greatly on his skills, cooldown reduction stats improve his damage considerably more than other stats.

Equipment

1. Boots of Deftness

Boots of Deftness are Yixing's main piece of movement equipment. The boots improve his Maximum Health and boost his out-of-combat speed, enabling him to roam the map faster.

Stats:

+300 Maximum Health

Passive - Swift

Movement Speed +70

Passive - Divine Wind

Increases Movement Speed by 50 outside of combat

2. Mask of Agony

Mask of Agony gives Yixing the means to deal damage against high-health enemies by dishing a percentage health-based amount of damage to the enemy. It also offers a slight boost to his Cooldown Reduction and Maximum Health.

Stats:

+120 Magical Attack

+5% Cooldown Reduction

+800 Max Health

Passive - Torment

When a skill hits a target, it deals magical damage equal to 3% of their current Health 4 times over 3 seconds. Damage capped at 200 against monsters. Cooldown: 3 seconds

3. Frozen Breath

Frozen Breath's passive synergises strongly with Yixing's spammable first skills, which also can slow the enemy. Frozen Breath also further boosts his cooldown reduction and maximum health.

Stats:

+160 Magical Attack

+5% Cooldown Reduction

+600 Max Health

Passive - Deep Freeze

When a skill hits an enemy, it reduces the enemy's Movement speed by 20% for 2 seconds.

Passive - Frostbite

Skills deal 120 to 400 extra magical damage to targets with reduced Movement Speed. Cooldown: 5 seconds.

4. Twilight Stream

Twilight Stream is another item that enables Yixing to deal considerable damage to durable enemies. Twilight Stream benefits significantly from his first skill's spammable capabilities. It also gives him a sprinkle of Cooldown Reduction to spam his skills better.

Stats:

+140 Magical Attack

+10% Cooldown Reduction

+300 Max Health

Passive - Purge

Dealing damage to a hero increases Magical Pierce by 16-30 for 4 seconds, for up to 10 stacks.

5. Savant's Wrath

Savant's Wrath is a magical damage-dealer bread and butter. It massively increases Yixing's damage by giving him an astronomical amount of Magical Attack stats.

Stats:

+240 Magical Attack

Passive - Doom

Magical Attack +30%

6. Splendor

Splendor gives Yixing survivability against assassins by making him immune to all damage and effects, but renders him unable to move, attack, or use skills. Combining it with his free Destiny-esque passive, Yixing can avoid almost all burst assassins that tried to eliminate him.

Stats:

+160 Magical Attack

+10% Cooldown Reduction

Active - Moonguard

Grants immunity to all effects, but renders the user unable to move, attack, or use skills for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown: 90 seconds.

Situational: Sage's Sanctuary, Moon Goddess, Venomous Staff, Tome of Wisdom

These are essential situational items for the late game. Sage’s Sanctuary provides a second life, while Moon Goddess is an upgraded version of Splendor. If a healer is your team's bane, consider getting Venomous Staff. He can change Mask of Agony with Tome of Wisdom if you lack damage.

How to Play Yixing

With his second skill, Yixing's level 1 wave clear is miles faster than anyone in the game right now. This enables him to roam faster and distract the enemy jungler while his enemy still trying to clear the wave. He also can survive early ganks if he can get out in time while his passive is active.

Yixing's utility makes him a monster in the team fight. He can dish considerable damage while ensuring his enemies can't escape the fight with his ultimate. He can also deal area-of-effect damage with his Anti-Qi stacks when the enemies are lined up closely.

Overall, Yixing is a great hero whose damage potential grew with time. The more Weiqi stone stacks you have, the higher his damage will be.
