KRÜ Esports took the last golden ticket to VCT Champions 2023.

KRÜ Esports stomped Leviatán in the grand final series of the VCT Last Chance Qualifier in a 3-1 fashion. It was a long tournament run for KRÜ but the journey was worth it. The team had the most number of matchups and knocked off four teams before the grand finals.

The grand final series was a rematch for the two LATAM teams. The stakes were high and there’s only one seat left at the VCT Champions table. Once again, KRÜ got the better of Leviatán in a nail-biting showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats.

KRÜ Esports took the initial lead in the first map, Split. The team secured four back-to-back wins and gained an early edge against Leviatán. Leviatán was on low economy and tried to pick off enemies. KRÜ bought out utilities in A site and immediately tried a B push. That’s when Vicente "Tacolilla" Compagnon made a key play to help his team get on the scoreboard.

Tacolilla’s Jett killed two enemies with a sheriff, including Angelo "keznit" Mori’s Raze who just popped his ult. This was not enough to disrupt the economy of KRÜ as the team took the next round on full-buy.

KRÜ built on that momentum to close the game. Split was indeed their territory as the game ended heavily in their favor.

Leviatán was quick to retaliate and bounce back on the second map. Tacolilla found a redemption arc on his Jett as he led his team to victory with a 19-12 KDA. KRÜ was only able to chalk up one round in the second half while Leviatán steamrolled to victory.

KRÜ picked Ascent for Game 3 where they showed their firepower once again. The team ended the first half with a two-point advantage. The defensive side was a lightweight for KRÜ as they won six out of seven rounds. KRÜ closed the game with a 13-6 score.

The map decider was picked by Leviatán. Game 4 showcased an exhilarating back-and-forth affair from both teams. KRÜ wanted to close the tournament but Leviatán was not an easy foe. The first half ended on a 6-6 score with neither team letting their guard down.

KRÜ chalked up crucial round wins and pushed to match point. KRÜ was hungry for victory and Leviatán had to tap out.

After a Cinderella run, KRÜ took the last ticket to VCT Champions 2023. The prestigious tournament will start on August 6. A total of 16 teams will battle it out and make their mark as true champions.
