BreakThru has been signed by Moist Esports, and will now play under the name Moist Moguls.
Moist Esports has officially moved into the Valorant esports scene with the signing of North American Valorant Challengers League competitor BreakThru. The team will move forward with its roster unchanged, but operate under a new team name: Moist Moguls.
The organisation’s co-owner and fairly popular streamer Ludwig announced Moist Moguls’ signing on Twitter, suggesting that Moist Esports spent $500,000 to sign the team. BreakThru’s roster currently consists of a few experienced players in the esports scene, including Xavier ‘flyuh’ Carlson, Alex ‘aproto’ Protopapas, Brock ‘brawk’ Somerhalder’, Brady ‘thief’ Dever and Tyler ‘sym’ Porter, with Tanizhq ‘Tanizhq’ Sabharwal acting as head coach.
BreakThru recently put on a pretty spectacular show during the NA Valorant Challengers League’s open qualifiers, ending its run by qualifying without a single loss and only dropping two maps in the process. Having qualified for Challengers, the team went on to play two games, of which it won one and lost the other. The team is hovering around the lower end of the standings at the moment, but there’s plenty of time to turn things around.
Moist Esports, also co-owned by streamer MoistCr1TiKaL, now has five professional teams playing for different titles. Other teams signed by the organisation play for Rocket League, Apex Legends, Guilty Gear Strive and Super Smash Bros. The NA VCL Split will resume this week, with Moist Moguls making its new organisational debut against Turtle Troops on February 27.
