DRX replaces Zest with newcomer Foxy9 for the VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo

DRX makes one big change ahead of São Paulo.

The VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo starts in just five days and DRX has made one change to its starting lineup by replacing longtime member, initiator Gi-Seok "Zest" Kim with the young duelist, Jung "Foxy9" Jae-sung. Being one of the few franchised teams to retain its original starting lineup, DRX signed Foxy9 to adhere to the league's rules of a six-player requirement.

And with his emergence into the starting lineup, it appears that Zest will now be DRX's official substitute for the season. He's already made his debut for DRX at the Daejeon Valorant Invitational as well as the Gwangju Esports Series - Asia edition, which DRX won against Team Secret and Talon Esports respectively.

DRX has been known as one of the few sides that like to experiment with its team lineups and compositions, especially when it came to designated duelists. This was down to Goo "Rb" Sang-min and his incredible versatility with many different agents and roles. But now with Foxy9 as part of the team, they have a duelist main that is capable of entry-fragging and drawing first blood.

The South Korean powerhouse will be making its VCT LOCK//IN debut against Turkish giants, BBL Esports. As it is a 32-team single-elimination best-of-three bracket, DRX must be on their toes as a single misstep will see them bowing out of the tournament early. If DRX wins their opening series against BBL, they will go up against either Cloud9 or Paper Rex.

DRX Roster:

Gu-Tak “stax” Kim

Min “Rb” Gu-Sang

Foxy9

Byung-chul “BuZz” Yu

Myeong-kwan “Mako” Kim
