It may be an easy choice for Blizzard, but it is a hard wait for us Overwatch junkies. In typical Blizzard fashion, the return of the Overwatch beta has been postponed by some weeks in order to ensure the highest quality product and content. Game Director Jeff Kaplan writes in this closed beta update that the team is going to "take a few extra weeks before bringing the closed beta back" so they wouldn't have to "rush a beta patch out this month".
If they were to do that, a new game mode and other new content would have to be put off and that isn't something he wants to happen. Kaplan and his team has admittedly been "pretty open" about the possibility of slipping into February with Beta still being offline, but I think most fans would agree that a couple weeks for a more polished game (with a huge additional game mode at that) is well worth the wait.
