After a poor performance at MSC 2023, Outplay’s roster seems to have lost a few players, according to a few videos seen online today.
North America has been making its way into the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene for a few years now, since BloodThirstyKings made a fantastic showing at the M3 World Championships in 2022. While The Valley, a team featuring many of the same players, did not fair as well in M4, it did see a split created – as players went their separate ways. With that, we saw BTK returning, with Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun at the helm, while Oscar “Shark” Vo and Jang “Hoon” Seong-hun went the other way to form Outplay. Now, after struggling at the recent Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2023, Outplay seems to be on the way… out.
In the video above, Peter “Basic” Lozano states that it was Hoon and Bestplayer1 who made the decision to leave the team, while Hoon himself states that it was Basic that decided to move on, taking both Shark and Rainiel “URESHIII” Logronio with him. Either way, it seems as though we will either be seeing a new iteration of OP in the near future, or a completely new team formed.
MobaZane added to this, admitting that his predictions were correct, having said previously that the team would not survive. He also claimed that they had some major sponsorship issues, which he did not go deep into – meaning that there is a high chance that we will not see the Outplay name again. For now, we do not have any further news on the players or where they will end up, but with the next season offering a spot to the M5 World Championship, and the MLBB world opening up further, we are likely to see every one of these talented individuals make a return, in NA at least.
