This game brought StarCraft fans back to the golden days of BroodWar TvT as both players went mech and started battling for every inch of the map. The first bigger victory in the match came for MVP as he saw that sC was still holding a weakly defended position and stormed in to clear the enemy tanks and get a 20 supply lead. He lost that soon thereafter as a bad engage cost him all of his thors and the game fell back to the positional stalemate.
But MVP knew a bit too well what should be done in these late-game cold war situations. The IM terran sneakily switched to BCs and hid them till he had six of them. Without sufficient number of starports (only having one, in fact), sC just stood helpless, watching his army melt under heavy Battlecruiser fire.

Zenio expanded rapidly but Byun did a perfect job reining him down with drops, ghosts and huge marine numbers. The ghost were actually the ones that won Byun a major victory by sniping all of the broodlords during an attack at one of Zenio's bases. But the terran quickly lost this advantage as all his high-tech units soon found themselves out of position and got immediately banelinged. As those were Byun's best chance to fight the tier 3 zerg units it was all downhill for him from there. By the 30th minute more than half of the map was in creep and Zenio kept rallying in troops, tormenting Byun's bases and starving him to death.

MVP opened with a small hellion harass but as that did absolutely no damage he chose to transition to the standard bio/tank army. As he moved out to do a mid-game push, Zenio reacted swiftly, sending all his mutalisk to terran's natural, killing all SCVs and the CC itself. Knowing that he is all-in from now on, MVP moved down for his final push but Zenio had already amassed sufficient number of lings and as his mutas flew back it was an easy victory for the oGs zerg, who thus took first in Group E.

Due to a faster CC and good banshee harass at sC's second base, Byun managed to get an early SCV advantage that later allowed him to take his third marginally quicker. Although sC managed to catch up in supply and workers, Byun's extra CC gave him a feeling of security and thus he pushed forward to establish a strong position between the northern watch towers. Using sensor towers to stay aware of sC's maneuvers, Byun sniped a siege tank after another, reaching a 3:1 ratio by the end of the game. sC gg-ed out and would fall to the up-and-down matches.

Once again Byun showed his excellent strategic understanding of the terran mirror. Abusing a small mistake by MVP who sacrificed the majority of his hellions in attempt to harass the natural, the Zenex player took ultimate control of the map and soon his tanks were spread in front of MVP's exits, much like the game between Byun and sC. With stoic patience, Byun secured a big army advantage, took his third and as he was denied MVP any expansions, the two-times champion had to surrender.
