13:45 - JulyZerg interview:



Q: What difficulties did you have with the transition from SC1 to SC2?

The biggest one was the interface difference, ”

Q: How far do you think you will go in this tournament, and who will be your hardest opponent?

There's no one who can stop me, and my goal is winning it all. My biggest opponent will be myself”

Q: You didn't make any upgrades, but you managed to win by outplaying your opponent by running around, is there anything you could've done to play even better?

I'm satisfied with the banelings, zerglings and the mutalisks. But the next round I will have to show something different since I'm playing a Protoss.”

13:32 - The muta harassment is forcing Terran to do something now, and he is moving out, JulyZerg is making a ton of spine crawlers, Terran doesn't seem to really know what to do, but finally moving in. JulyZerg is getting the greater spire, Terran is killing the right side third-base of JulyZerg.

Brood Lords are being made now, while his mutalisks are killing the entire main of Terran. Fungal growth, brood lords and a lot of spine crawlers hold sit off, and banelings, A LOT OF BANELINGS, cleans up the entire terrran army from behind.

GG from aLive, and JulyZerg moves on to the round of 16, winning 2-0.

13:27 - JulyZerg now has a ton of banelings, got his third base up and running and his making his fourth at the golden expansion, while Terran is still sitting on two bases. There is creep everywhere.

Terran is moving out, while July is countering with his mutalisks, the turret is repaired beautifully though, and the mutalisks have to retreat.

Terran is now moving out for real, but a lot of banelings is waiting for him. July with some more harassment with his mutalisks.

13:25 - JulyZerg is taking his third base now, and is spreading creep beautifully. Spire is up, and mutalisks are on the way to finish.

13:18 - Game 2 - JulyZerg vs aLive

The second game is on Xel'Naga Caverns, JulyZerg spawns top right, and aLive in the bottom left.

aLive with some early marine pressure, and is now supported with two hellions as well. Zergling speed is yet to be finished. JulyZerg manages to hold it off though with his queens. The expansion for Terran is soon done.

13:16 - JulyZerg killed the command center at aLive's expansion, then cleaned up the Terran army to force a GG, and 1-0 for JulyZerg.

13:11 - Terran is moving out while JulyZerg counters with his mutalisks. Kills a lot of SCVs, and almost takes down the command center before he backs up to take out the terran army, and cleans it up. 110 supply for July, and 52 for aLive.

13:10 - JulyZerg, while harassing with his mutalisks, is taking two golden expansions now, and if they will get up and running things will look really bad for aLive.

13:08 - Terran is moving out, finds the golden expansion hatchery, it did not get canceled. JulyZerg lost his banelings to the siege tank, and the mutas took some damage from the marines. He cleaned up the army when they were on their way home though.

13:06 - An expansion is being made for Terran, while JulyZerg is getting baneling speed and a spire.

13:01 - Game 1 - JulyZerg vs aLive

The first game is on Delta Quadrant with JulyZerg in the top left corner as the red Zerg, and aLive in the bottom right as the blue Terran.

The expansion is now going up for JulyZerg who did make a pool first. aLive is making a tech lab to his factory, and is getting a siege tank.

12:51 - The final match of the day is between JulyZerg and aLive, a Zerg vs Terran.

Q: Did you use the proxy rush because he is your teammate, or is there another reason?

It's just something that popped into my mind during practice that it would be hard to defend against”

Q: Knowing you're up against your teammate, do you practice anything specific to defeat him?

I knew his style, so it wasn't hard to know what to practice against, and I got a lot of help from people such as MakaPrime”

12:47 - MC is breaking down the rocks of the second entrance, and is now inside the Terran base, and it looks very good for the Protoss player. Hyperdub is forced to send his SCVs to that. And eventually GG's, Protoss and MC moves on to the round of 16, 2-0.

12:45 - A proxy gateway is being made, and we'll see some early pressure from MC, who also has his cybernetics up. Hyperdub is however getting three barracks, which will be a nice counter to what's coming at him.

12:42 - Game 2 - MC vs Hyperdub

We have MC, blue Protoss, in the bottom left, and red Terran, Hyperdub in the top right of Blistering Sands.

12:39 - A void ray supports the stalkers with vision on the ramp of the terran, and takes down the wall, and the stalkers have moved in. The banshee didn't do much before it was taken down either, as MC had a robotics up for observers.

The stalkers is too much for Hyperdub, and MC wins the first game.

12:35 - Game 1 - MC vs Hyperdub

We have the red Terran, Hyperdub in the bottom left corner, and MC, the blue Protoss in the top right of Steppes of War.

A stargate is being made for the Protoss, while Terran is making a starport, probably going for Banshees.

12:25 - Leenock interview:

Q: What does your name mean?

It's from a Korean soap opera, a girl in that series called Leenock”

Q: How far do you think you will make it in this tournament, and how confident are you going up against MarineKing?

It will be the most difficult round for me, but I make it out of that one I'll make it either to the round of eight or the round of four”

12:20 - Leenock with a huge attack to the golden expansion, and cleans up the entire army of GuineaPig, and while he watch his expansion go down along with his army, GuineaPig scratches his nose before he GG's, and 2-0 for Leenock.

12:18 - GuineaPig moving out, and comes out on the top after the big battle in the middle, forcing Leenock's remaining mutalisks to back off. GuineaPig is now making his third base at the golden expansion.

12:15 - An infestor is out now, along with around 12-14 mutalisks. That could be dangerous for the six phoenixes which are out for GuineaPig.

GuineaPig is caught off-guard, and the Infestor throws a fungal growth on all of the phoenixes, and mutas can easily kill them all.

12:12 - GuineaPig is putting his expansion now, getting a photon cannon up as well, playing very safe. And he is making a void ray currently.

Meanwhile in the Zerg base of Leenock, we have the lair finished and a spire being made. I guess we'll see a heavy air battle soon, as GuineaPig is making another Stargate was well, while Leenock makes his third base at the golden expansion.

The first void ray kills an overlord, so Leenock knows what's coming at him. The Void Ray tries to get the third base, but mutalisks kills it. A few phoenixes are out now.

12:09 - Leenock gets a few zerglings inside the base, but it's being taken care of by two zealots now. GuineaPig sends a scouting probe and finds the incoming expansion of Leenock. Cybernetics Core has finished, and warp gates is being researched. It seems like we're in a normal game again now. Two more gateways on the way for the Protoss.

12:05 - Game 2 - GuineaPig vs Leenock

The second game is on Lost Temple, we have GuineaPig at the right side position, and Leenock on the left side, making a very fast spawning pool already.

GuineaPig is actually making a lot of probes, chrono boosting the nexus, havent' even started gateways yet, and his probe finds a complete spawning pool.

GuineaPig walls up his front with pylons and a forge, but the Zerglings have arrived already, and GuineaPig will try to wall in behind his wall again, this is scary for the Protoss.

12:02 - Leenock got a few zerglings inside the Protoss base and found out what was coming at him. A big push from GuineaPig now, around 10 zealots and two stalkers, three sentries on the way as well.



The stalkers get picked off by zerglings. Leenock seems to go for a counter while his expansion is under attack, and it actually seems like he cleans up the army of GuineaPig, and GuineaPig GG's, 1-0 for Leenock.

The first map is Blistering Sands, we have GuineaPig in the bottom left as the red Protoss, and Leenock top right as the blue Zerg. GuineaPig starts out with a pylon placed at the Zerg expansion to prevent him from any early hatchery.

Game 3 - Marineking vs. Monster @ Lost Temple

11:38 - Marineking once again with the same build order, Monster as well. No proxy this time from Marineking.

Marineking gathering up his traditional marine, marauder force. Goes for the attack, but is stopped by the Zerg! Holdgs off the attack, and sees the perfect timing to get his third expansion at the natural of the right expansion.

Another well-timed attack from Marineking, moving in with his marines and marauders. Too many for Monster, who calls gg. 2-1 to Marineking.

Game 2 - Marineking vs. Monster @ Steppes of War

11:27 - Second game has started.

Proxy barracks for Marineking in the middle of the map. Monster goes hatchery first. Unsure if Monster saw the barracks with his scouting drone or overlord.

Yeah, he definitely spotted it. Laying down an early spine crawler at the expansion, hindernig Marineking to attack.

Marineking going in for the attack anyway! Enters the natural expansion of the Zerg, moving up to the ramp, but too many zerglings for Monster who can hold it off and instead counter-attack. Marineking in trouble!

11:19 - We see a spire, and mutalisks on the way from Monster. Marineking will spot this with his floating Factory on the scout hunt. He also notes banelings and zerglings.

Armory being made for Marineking. A biiig marine, marauder army backed by medivacs moving out on the field. Have to watch out for those banelings.

Monster moving in for the attack, shows proof of some nice baneling usage, but Marineking's micro is too darn good and holds the attack off. Now it's more or less an in-walz for the Terran bio ball.

11:13 - And we are off! Marineking is in the bottom as red Terran, Monster is in the top as blue Zerg.

Speedling build for Monster, with hatchery after pool. Marineking is fast expanding, then laying down two more barracks adding the count up to three. King of Marines, can he take out the Monster?

Lair on the way for Monster, getting a Baneling Nest. Marineking moving out with a marine, marauder army. On his way to apply some pressure. Those banelings need to get morphed in!

Oh yeah, great flank with the banelings! Marineking's force gets eliminated.

11:03 - Hello, and welcome to the third day of the Round of 32 from the GOMTV StarCraft 2 Open.

Today's matchups are all-Korean. The runner-up from last season, BoxeR/FoxeR/MarineKing or whatever you want to call him, will go up against Monster.

We also have GOMTV caster favorite GuineaPig against Leenock, a oGs duel between Hyperdub and MC, and for last round we have July against aLive.
