After two years of radio silence on the Genshin Impact anime, eagle-eyed fans have found new information regarding the project’s progress.
Every Genshin Impact fan likely knows what the Genshin Impact anime project is. First announced in September 2022 through a version update livestream, the “long-term animation project” featured a breathtaking anime trailer produced by popular Japanese animation studio Ufotable, complete with the Traveler twins, Paimon, and scenic views of iconic areas of Teyvat.
However, no news about the Genshin Impact animation project has come to light in the two years since it was announced, leaving fans worried about the future of the anime. The silence surrounding the animation project made its announcement feel almost like a fever dream. That is, until just recently.
Eagle-eyed fans over at the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit spotted a job posting at the official miHoyo website, looking for a full-time Animation Writer for the game over at their Shanghai office.
One of the job responsibilities cited in the job posting includes: responsibility for supervising the script of the Genshin Impact animation project based on the game settings, with one of the job requirements being Japanese oral communication skills. With this job posting coming to light, it sounds like the Genshin Impact animation project is ready to kick things into gear.
Although there’s no clear understanding of what direction the anime plans to take, we’re pretty excited about what HoYoverse and Ufotable will produce. Ufotable is known for its breathtaking animation, especially evident in its hit anime series Demon Slayer, which has made its mark in recent anime history with its unforgettable fight sequences. With Ufotable backing the animation side, we’re sure whatever direction HoYoverse decides to take with the Genshin Impact animation project will come to fruition beautifully onscreen.
