Mark 'Pookz' Rendon, playing for Evil Geniuses, is not happy about his team's performance at the MLG Columbus event.
- Before Columbus my teammates won ESL Global Finals with Woundman on rogue, says Pookz in an interview with Fnatic.com.
Pookz was expecting a top four finish. They predicted to defeat everyone but compLexity Red in the group, but suffered a loss to Fnatic as well which hindered their advancement. While saying he does not want to blame the map, he does say Dalarin is his least favorite map.
- "I don't want to blame our loss on the map but Dalaran is personally my least favorite map for fighting teams that rush down my shaman. The amount of pressure Yog and Woundman put on our shaman was unlike anything we had ever seen from an RLS," says Pookz.
Evil Geniuses played with Pookz, Azael and Tenderloin in Columbus, a lineup that was different than the one at the ESL Intel Extreme Season 4 finals. Instead of Woundman, now playing for Fnatic, playing with the team, Pookz stepped in. The mage player looks at the result as if it was his fault.
- "Yes I was disappointed with the outcome, I felt like I was holding my team back by playing mage, since before Columbus my teammates won ESL Global Finals with Woundman on rogue," says Pookz. "I even told Azael and Tenderloin that if they wanted to play with Woundman on the tournament realm, to go ahead."
- "Woundman and his team did well at MLG Columbus, third place to be exact, but that's not good enough for someone who has won a global Championship. I don't mind stepping out for Woundman because Azael and Tenderloin deserve to do well," admits Pookz. "I may not qualify for the regional tournament now, but I will still not regret my decision especially if it allows Azael and Tenderloin to make it to Blizzcon."
"WoW... it's not comparable to StarCraft 2"
The interviewer Cameron "fams" Carson brings up the fact that Pookz has been playing StarCraft 2 and asks if we might see a switch similar to the former SK-Gaming WoW player Olivier "Orly" Bellemans did.
- "I take pride in being a WoW player that fully understands the unlikeliness of becoming a professional Starcraft player comparable to the Korean SC players. So no there is really no chance of me doing that but I do enjoy playing the game," says Pookz, firmly shutting that door.
