MLBB confirmed that the Mekong region will get two slots for two different countries in the M6 World Championship Wildcard stage.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang! confirmed that the Mekong region will get two slots in the upcoming M6 World Championship Wildcard stage. However, the two slots would be given to two teams from different countries from the qualifiers. The Mekong region will consist of Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Brunei.
It meant that if two teams from the same country reached the grand final, only the champion would receive a slot in the M6 World Championship, while the other slot would be given to the highest-placing team from different countries in the tournament.
Three teams have confirmed their participation in M Challenge Cup Season 4: Atlas Raja from Brunei, Vampire Esports and Jack the Giant Slayer from Vietnam. There is no information yet regarding when the Mekong qualifier will take place.
With the inclusion of two slots, the Mekong region was the only one with two slots in the Wildcard stage. The rest will include one team from EECA (Eastern Europe and Central Asia), one from the LATAM region, one from Türkiye, one from MENA, one from China, and one from Mongolia. Only one team from the Wildcard stage will qualify for the Main Stage, which will be played in a Swiss format.
So far, the only team already confirmed to join the Wildcard stage was The MongolZ from Mongolia's National Championship 2024. They beat IHC Esports in the grand final with a score of 4-1.
The M6 World Championship will commence from November 21st to December 15th, 2024. Twenty-three teams worldwide will compete for a prize pool of 1,000,000 USD and the bragging rights to call themselves the best in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
